1. Requirement Section a. Client Understanding A game designed to educate users about correct safety protocols in anticipation of hurricanes and similar dangerous storms. 2. Proposal Abstract a. Razor Statement Test your odds against the ultimate storm. b. 15 Second Pitch Hurricane Katrina was one of the most catastrophic natural disasters of our age. Dangerous storms are no game, and it is important to remember preparations can always be made to help prevent unnecessary loss and damages. Featuring realistic time and monetary restrictions, Hurrigame can give users a vital working knowledge in how to better prepare themselves for dangerous storms in a fun, safe, and interactive way. c. What and Why Our goal is to deliver an interactive learning experience through Hurrigame that creates awareness for proper safety precautions concerning dangerous storms. Nearly one thousand people move to Florida every day, many of which have no experience with dangerous storm activity, such as severe tropical storms and hurricanes. Additionally, an estimated ten thousand homes are destroyed by hurricanes per year. By educating homeowners of their options concerning dangerous storm precautions, many future homes can be saved from similar damage or destruction. 3. Audience/Client Treatment a. Define an End User Experience b. Who is ONE audience Member Make them Real a, b Dave from Utah is a new Floridian who wants to learn how to better prepare for a hurricane. When beginning Hurrigame, he will choose his home and location. He will then have to purchase different items to prepare for the storm while time and resources rapidly deplete. Simultaneously, an opponent will create a hurricane in the same time allotment. After the storm has hit Daves virtual home, he will be able to read on a report how his purchases affected his personal health and the safety of his home. 4. Technology Review a.
