A VISIT TO A ZOO Last Sunday, the weather was pleasant. I, along with my family, visited the state zoo. It is situated at a distance of twenty kilometersfrom our house. When we arrivedat the zoo entrance, there was a huge crowd queuing up to buy tickets. Some of them were excited on their visit to the zoo. Webought our tickets and went into the zoo. We first visited the natural garden. Here was a huge lake where one could witness a variety of birds. The sight of a white duck swimming on the smooth surface of the water was wonderful. Then, we moved ahead to the enclosure where birds were chirping. They included the sparrows, pigeons, eagles, parrots of different colours. Their enchanting music delighted us. Then, we moved to where the tigers were.Their sharp teeth and claws filled us with fear. We also saw elephants and bears. Then we came across an open area where stags and deer were grazing. These animals were very active, sharp and smart. In one corner of the area was a big tree on which a large number of monkeys and baboons were jumping about. Their tricks and pranks were very pleasing. Some people threw bananas at them to which they immediately tried to catch by jumping down the branches. Children were enjoying by making faces at them. We next *halted at the aquarium where there were varieties of aquatic animals and birds. There was also many species of fish. Their graceful movement underwater was really amazing. Next to this enclosure the polar bears looked dejected. Then, we moved to a big pool full of crocodiles. These reptiles were very frightening. We also saw venomous snakes like cobras and pythons. We had the

opportunity to photograph ourselves with a rare albino snake around our neck although we felt extremely anxious. We spent five hours in the zoo. We went a full round and enjoyed ourselves a lot. We were happy to see all those animals which we usually only read about in books. The memory of the visit still makes us feel thrilled. *halted: stopped

We captured a significant moment with a rare species of reptile. We proceeded to an enclosure where we saw sad-looking polar bears. It was an eye-opening experience of us at the zoo. We were amused by the tricks and pranks played by a large troop of agile monkeys. When we arrived, there were already many people in line buying their tickets. It was a welcoming sight when we saw a white duck swimming in a lake.
