Spring 2014 Awards

Trevor Diep Award


Purpose: to recognize an individual who shows the outstanding principle of leadership in the fraternity. Criteria: 1. Be an active member of fraternity 2. Attended campus and chapter leadership workshops 3. Gone above and beyond active members commitment to leadership.

Kari Yamamoto Award


PURPOSE. The purpose of this award is to recognize the Gamma Beta individual who demonstrates the outstanding fraternity principle of friendship through participation in the chapters fellowship program. CRITERIA. Recipients of this award shall have: 1. Been an Active Member of the organization. 2. Participate in an overwhelming amount of friendship events 3. Attends events hosted by neighboring chapters 4. Gone above and beyond the Active Members commitment to fellowship, setting an example for the membership. AWARDING POLICY. This award shall be given to one individual per term.

Baron-Pabalan Award
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize the Gamma Beta individual who demonstrates the outstanding fraternity principle of Service to the campus, fraternity, community, and nation. Requirements: 1. Been an Active Member of the organization. 2. Performed Service in all four areas (campus, fraternity, community, and nation). 3. Done Service with groups other than Alpha Phi Omega, including groups on campus. 4. Done Service with Alumni Members and other chapters. 5. Shared Service projects and ideas. 6. Gone above and beyond the Active Members commitment to Service, setting an example for the membership Awarding Policy: This award shall be given to one individual per term.

Dynamic Duo Awards


Three separate awards Purpose: To recognize the Big and Little pairing for their achievements in leadership, friendship, or service. Been an active or pledge member

Dwayne Hearn Gamma Beta Award


PURPOSE. The purpose of this award is to recognize the individual who demonstrates excellence above and beyond what is regularly expected of an organization member. The individual personifies what it means to be a Leader, a Friend, and of Service. 1. Been an Active Member throughout the year. 2. Show excellence in Leadership, Friendship, and Service AWARDING POLICY. This award shall be given to one individual per year.

Bob Barkhurst A Class Award


Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize the Gamma Beta individual who serves and completes a term of presidency to their chapter and has demonstrated the outstanding principle of Leadership to the fraternity.

Requirements: 1. Completed a term as an effective President of this organization. 2. Developed Leadership within the chapter.

Camaraderie Award
PURPOSE. This award recognizes the family that extends the most friendliness to others. CRITERIA. Recipients of this award shall have: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Held a variety of activities promoting fellowship. Promoted Brotherhood throughout chapters. Involved the new additions to their lines. Multiple family members represented at every event included in the application. At least 50% or more of the family (Active, Pledge, and Associate members) represented in

combination. 6. A picture of each event attended. AWARDING POLICY. This award shall be awarded on one family per year. All materials submitted in applications shall become the organizations property.

Golden Heart
PURPOSE. The purpose of this award is to recognize the Gamma Beta Alumnus who continues to exemplify the principles of the organization. CRITERIA. Recipients of this award shall have: 1. Been an Alumni Member of this organization. 2. Demonstrated dedication and support to the growth of the organization. 3. Excelled in the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. 4. Promoted Brotherhood throughout the organization and other alumni. AWARDING POLICY. This award shall be awarded to one Alumni Member per year.

Distinguished Service Key


Purpose: To recognize brothers who have been outstanding in exhibiting LFS and impacting the chapter as a whole. Known as Distinguished Service Key (DSK) Highest award possible Three different types of DSKs -Chapter DSK, Sectional DSK, Regional DSK DSKs are voted on by the chapter, section, region (respectively)
