Post-dated cheques are required for September through June inclusive, dated the first of each month, and must be received by September 1st. If your child is withdrawn from the preschool, Ma Premire cole Preschool Board of Directors will require one months written notice. Please make cheques payable to Ma Premire cole Inc. Ma Premire cole Board of Directors will issue receipts in February and June.
RULES AND REGULATIONS Prior to September 1st (or your childs first day of preschool), the instructor or appointed Board member must have received your completed registration form and cheques, which include payment of the registration fee and the monthly fees for September through June inclusive (post-dated cheques dated the first of each month). All course fees are monthly and no refund can be provided if a child is absent due to illness, vacation or any other reason. Withdrawal of a registered child from the preschool requires one calendar month's written notice postmarked (or given in person to any director) on or before the last day of the preceding month. Monthly course fees are not the responsibility of the instructor and any problems or concerns regarding payment of fees should be addressed directly to the Board of Directors. If a cheque is NSF or a payment has not been received, a letter from the Board of Directors will be mailed to you (Appendices I and II). You will have one month to make up the payment. At the end of that month, if the payment has not been received, the child will no longer be able to attend until payment has been received. There will be a $5.00 charge levied on all NSF cheques. Children may enroll in the preschool at any time, subject to space being available. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and every effort will be made to secure your preferred placement for your child. The maximum class size is 10 children. In the event that no spaces are currently available, a waiting list of registrants will be established on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guardians on the waiting list will be notified immediately if a space becomes available or if additional classes are offered based on sufficient enrollments.
It is recommended that your property taxes be assigned to the Catholic School System, as the preschool is located in a Roman Catholic Elementary School. The Board reserves the right to request withdrawal of any child at any time during the school year. The Board reserves the right to cancel class times due to insufficient registrations. Children that are misbehaving or being disruptive to the class will be given two verbal warnings and timeout if the misbehavior continues. If the misbehavior persists, the instructor will follow up with the child's guardian. If the matter cannot be satisfactorily resolved, the child will be required to be withdrawn from the program. Payment for the month is nonrefundable. As the weather turns cold, parents may wonder when to keep their children home. A runny nose or slight cough should not inhibit attendance. However, reasons to stay home may include a bad cold, the flu, a fever, an ear or throat infection or a communicable disease. If your child has a communicable disease, please keep your child at home until his/her health has been cleared by your health provider. The instructor at any time has the right to ask your child to stay at home due to illness. Please notify the instructor immediately if your child is ill with a communicable disease, such as the chicken pox, so that other children may be monitored for similar symptoms. For complete details on proper procedure regarding child illness, please reference the Saskatchewan Health Communicable Disease Handbook that can be found in the St. Andrew School office.
DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES
SICKNESS GUIDELINES
EXPECTATIONS OF ALL GUARDIANS All guardians are expected to participate in the operation of the preschool. It is recognized that this may be difficult for guardians who work full-time, so it is important for all guardians to volunteer whenever possible. Assistance from aunts, uncles, grandparents or babysitters is welcome: You will be required to drive your children to and from field trips and take your turn to assist in field trips. You will be required to bring food items for special events, such as celebrations for Christmas, Easter and Graduation. Guardians will be required to make play-dough. You will receive monthly calendars throughout the year which will update you on preschool events, upcoming field trips and preschool holidays. These calendars will be sent home with your child. You are asked to attend general meetings held once or twice a year. These meetings are
planned for all guardians as information, education and sometimes policy setting meetings. Your input and support are greatly appreciated. If you can help donate any bulk supplies or help us to obtain any articles at wholesale prices, please notify the instructor or a member of the Board.
We sincerely appreciate the cooperation and assistance of all guardians when it is required. CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS Each day you must provide a nutritious snack for your child. These snacks are not to be shared. Due to allergies, please do not send snacks containing nuts. All removable clothing such as boots, hats, etc. should be labeled with your child's name. Children should wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind being soiled with paint, glue, etc. and which are easy to manage for the washroom. Running shoes or soft soled shoes are required in the classroom. We recommend you leave the shoes in the classroom for the duration of the preschool year. Please have your child bring a medium-sized bag or backpack to preschool. Please have a change of clothing in your childs backpack in case their clothes get soiled and need to be changed at school. Please send one pack of antibacterial wipes at the beginning of the school year. These wipes will be used to clean the students hands prior to snack time. Guardians and children are to remove their boots or dirty shoes at the door upon entry. Ma Premire cole Inc. is operated by a volunteer group of guardians. The Board of Directors oversees the general operation of the preschool, including the fiscal management, for a one year term. Guardians are needed to fill the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board of Directors meets three to four times a year. The instructor is hired as an employee of the program and is responsible for the development and delivery of the preschool program.
