Greetings Members,
Mission & Vision
Moneylife Foundation is a notfor-profit organisation with a mission to spread financial literacy and be the voice of Indian savers. Our vision is to give a voice to those of us who work hard, earn, save and still don't seem to have a say in the decisions that affect us, because we are neither a vote bank nor part of any vested interests.

We are late with the newsletter this time because there was simply too much going on at Moneylife Foundation. I am delighted to announce the successful launch of Moneylife Foundation's Legal

Resource Centre (LRC) on 21 st February by Ms Yukta Mookhey, Miss World 1999. We have tried to keep the LRC rather low key until we are geared up to handle more queries. But we have already received 27 queries in this short time and have responded and closed 23 of them. As we expected, the majority of queries relate to property issues or cooperative housing society matters. Mr Shirish Shanbhag has done a wonderful job of answering nearly a dozen queries while our Mr Yogesh Sapkale has anchored the LRC effort. What is the Legal Resource Centre? We plan to provide information and guidance for those who need legal help in choosing the best forum or formulating a plan of action. The LRC has a rich panel of legal experts led by Advocate Jamshed Mistry and many leading activists who have offered their expertise to enable us to provide free guidance. We have initially restricted our effort to 10 areas filing complaints with financial regulators, consumer complaints, Right to Information, the IT Act and issues that affect life and liberty, guidance on Wills, transmission of assets, realty and housing society issues and guidance for effective whistle-blowing. Please post requests only from the LRC website because it is important that you read our terms and conditions. Do check out the coverage of our launch event and uploaded video. We request corporates to consider the LRC for your CSR activities which would benefit your company's stakeholders and employees. Our education effort, our helplines and our future plans fall squarely within this definition. On International Women's Day we had a heart-warming event. We had the honour of felicitating two amazing activists, whose efforts provide help, support, courage and finance to people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Cord Injuries. Both these gutsy women have led by example and are an inspiration to all! Sheelatai Chitnis heads the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India and Dr Ketna Mehta founded Nina Foundation with her brother Dhaval.Do take a look at these lovely videos.
