PATHWAY TO RESIDENCY

You should begin preparing for your residency from the day you start medical school by doing well in your courses and on the USMLE Step 1 exam. Use this timeline as a general guideline for your residency placement processes,

Get token from ECFMG to submit to Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Request specialty-specic LoRs

keeping in mind there may be slight timing differences between August and January classes. The Ofce of Career Guidance and Student Development offers assistance for helping you determine which residency to pursue, managing your ERAS application, handling interviews, and navigating the match. A more detailed outline can be found at ocg.sgu.edu/timeline.

Complete PS and have OCG Advisor edit it Review OCG IV Talk on the OCG website to prepare for interviews

SEPTEMBER
