The film opens showing Mr. Bean winning a free trip to the beaches at Cannes, France in his church. Mr. Bean who looks thrilled videotapes his every moment leading up to the destination. When he arrives at the railway station in Paris, he asks a man to video tape him at the door of the train. Soon after, a careless Mr. Bean makes the train but the man does not and Mr. Bean stands helpless at the closed door. Mr. Bean realizes that the mans son is left on the train. The man yells to his panicked son to wait for him at the next stop. However, the next train does not stop at the next station. The boys father holds up a sign with his cell phone number in the window. Mr. Bean taped the father holding up the numbers ibut he and the boy discover that the father had his fingers over the last two numbers. Even so they decide to go through all the possible combinations, but in the process of doing that, sadly Mr. Bean leaves behind their passports even the train tickets. Mr. Bean and the boy start their way across France to Cannes, but comic disaster stalks them at every turn. A camera at the second train station leads the father and the police to believe that Mr. Bean has kidnapped the boy. The following morning, Bean and Stepan turn to the street performance at a local market to earn money. The audience loves their two-man show, and throws coins at the urchins. Things are finally looking good as Bean spots a bus to Cannes. Naturally, Bean's ticket flutters away while Stepan is driven away. That night, Bean sleeps in a hay cart and wakes to find himself in a quaint French village. An explosion and soldiers in the square cause Bean to spring into action. Just as he wrestles a Nazi and "rescues" a caf girl, turns out is Carson Clay shooting a commercial. Mr Carson angrily shouts, "Cut!" Meanwhile, the clueless Bean unleash an explosive that blows up the set. Sabine (who was the girl at Clays set), is on her way to Cannes, she assumes the hitchhiking Bean as a filmmaker. At a motorway caf, they meet Stepan. The three of them continue south in Sabine's Mini Cooper. Finally they arrive at the premiere of Sabine's film. Bean and Stepan sneak into the auditorium, where the film is playing with a bored audience. On screen there is a flash of Sabine, but sad for her, her part has been cut. Then Bean slips into the projection box, plugs in his camera and projects his holiday video on screen as a protest to Clays action in cutting Sabine out of the movie. As guards enter the booth, Bean escapes through the window. While the guards race toward Bean, Stepan appears and finally reunited with his father. The thrilled audience applauds, believing "Carson Clay's" new film a masterpiece (which was actually Mr Beans videos) . Beside all the chaos and Clay's undeserved bows taking all of the credit, Bean glances out of a doorway and spies the beach. At last, his whimsical journey is complete.
