THE ABC'S OF STANDING Twenty Six Tips For A Restored Marriage How do I stand with God for a restored

marriage? Here are our ABC's for a healed family. We can provide a list, but the real ABC's are found only in The Bible. If you are serious about standing, and we pray that you are, you need to look up every scripture referenced below. May you memorize and take to heart the Word of God. This week we will ask you to start your homework by looking up these scriptures. You will have six to seven letters each day. May the Lord open your spiritual eyes and ears as you read His Word. A = Always put the full Armor Of God on yourself, your spouse and children every day so that you can take your stand against the devil's tricks. Ephesians 6:10-18 B = Become a student of the Word. Your direction, instruction, comfort and hope will come not from a person or a ministry, but from God, through His written Word, the Bible. You cannot claim the promises of God, if you do not know them. You will not know them, unless you read and study the Bible. Psalm 119:9,11,105,148 C = Each of us made a commitment when we said "I do" on our Wedding Day. We are standing on our covenant not a contract that cannot be broken. May each of us make a commitment "for life" regardless of our circumstances for our spouse and marriage. Psalm 37:5, Malachi 2:11-16, Proverbs 16:1-4,7,9 D = We need to always know and remember who the enemy is, the devil, satan, it is not our spouses. I Peter 5:8-9, John 10:10, James 4:7-8 E = Envy and jealousy can also destroy our marriage restoration. Do not envy or be jealous of things that is happening at the present time. It is only for a season. God will bless you if you love your spouse unconditionally, as He loves us. Galatians 5:224-26, James 3:13-18, 2 Corinthians 12:20 F = We life by faith, not by sight. Faith is the opposite of Fear. Fear is from the enemy. Face every day with the excited anticipation that your Lord God who created the universe can do anything and nothing is too hard for Him, including healing your marriage. G = Go to Church. Find a local body of believers where you can grow

and serve the Lord. Each of us are given spiritual gifts. are yours? Use your spiritual gifts where you go to church help others. (This is where you can invest your tithe into work.) H = Pray that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit including your spouse, your children, your loved ones and any other prodigals. We need the Holy Spirit to have power from on high as Jesus instructed His disciples. John 14:25-26, John 16:8,13, Acts 1:4-5,7-8, Acts 2:38-39 I = Ignore any insults you may receive from anyone. Become like a Noah, who built an ark for his family and they were saved. Every day you have a choice whether you will continue to build your ark for your family to be saved, regardless of what others may say to you or about you. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, I Peter 3:8-9, I Peter 4:12-14 J = Jesus Christ is the answer for any and all of your problems in your life. Before you can expect your marriage to be restored, you need to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have never surrendered your life to the Lord, repent, confess your sins, asking for forgiveness and become a new creature in Jesus Christ. We all must be saved. Many people know the Lord as Savior, but have never submitted their life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him today to be Savior and Lord of your life. Seek the Lord, surrendering your will and way to only His way in your life. John 17:3, Romans 10:9, Acts 2:38-39 K = Many marriages are destroyed for lack of knowledge. While you are separated from your spouse, may we make every effort to become a student of the Word of God and gain wisdom, knowledge and understanding. You can learn so much if you will sacrifice your time to learn all you can about your Lord, about marriages and how to raise your children. Hosea 4:6, Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 2:1-11, 2 Peter 3:17-18 L = Love of a stander must be unconditional, just as Jesus Christ loves each of us. There is no room in standing for a restored marriage with tough love, or, "If you don't do right, I will do wrong." Pray that the Lord will make you into the spouse that your husband/wife needs. I Corinthians 13:5-8, Romans 12:9-21 M - God created marriage. It is a covenant and not a contract that can be broken. You made a vow to God " til death do us part." May we hate what God hates. God hates divorce as anyone can see the consequences of divorce to each and every family member. Let each of us fight for the sanctity of marriage. "Nothing is too hard for you" Jeremiah 32:17 "For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37 O = Living by faith means obeying God's Word in spite of feelings, circumstances or consequences. Obedience and faith are inseparable. It is living and standing on the promises of God. Hebrews 11:8, I John 5:2-4, Deuteronomy 11, Nehemiah 1:4-9 "Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. Jeremiah 11:4 "This is love for God: to obey his commands." I John 5:3 "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going....For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Hebrews 11:8, P = Prayer is a priority. You must spend time alone with God. There is power in praying. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16, 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, I John 5:14-15, Mark 11:22-25 Peace = Pray to have peace in your home and not strife. "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace." Colossians 3:15 "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 "Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble." Psalm 119:165 Plans = God has a plan for you and your family. Wait and trust in the Lord, His timing will be perfect. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3 "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9 "There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord." Proverbs 21:30 Q = Quit- Regardless of your circumstances, you should never quit standing for your covenant marriage. Your standing and praying may

make the difference between your spouse being in Heaven or in Hell for all eternity. Philippians 3:12-14, Luke 18:1-8, 2 Corinthians 4 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9, R = God will be your refuge in times of trouble. He will never leave you or forsake you. Psalm 46, Psalm 18:28- 50, Psalm 91 Repentance = You need to pray for your spouse's salvation. This is important for the restoration of your marriage. Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:31-32 "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not need to repent." Luke 15:7 Restoration = God believes in restoration of marriages. Read Jeremiah 30 & 33 S = Seek the Lord with all your heart. He will direct your steps. If you do it your way, you will never have peace. Luke 11:9-10, Psalm 105:1-4, Psalm 119:10, Psalm 27, Jeremiah 33:3, 6-9 "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Isa. 55:6-7 "But seek first his kingdom things will be given to you tomorrow, for tomorrow will enough trouble of its own." and his righteousness, and all these as well. Salvation = Each of us need to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. He died on the cross for each of us to have a personal relationship with Him, not to join a church or be religious--but a personal relationship. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16, Romans 10:9, Romans 5:6-9, Romans 6:22, Acts 2:221 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Believe in His power, and all that He says, He will do. Proverbs 3:5-6, John 14:1, Psalm 20:7, Jeremiah 17:7, Psalm 9:10, Romans 10:11 U = You need to forgive your spouses daily for what they have or are doing against you and your children. Unforgiveness can only be used by the enemy. The Lord Jesus taught much about loving our enemies and forgiveness. Always remember, God loves you and will never leave or forsake you. Luke 6:37, Matthew 18:21-22, Mark 11:22-25, Matthew 6:14-15, Colossians 3:13 V = Victory is yours if you do not grow weary and give up. Jesus defeated the devil on the cross. Our Lord will fight the battle for your spouse, family and loved ones. I Corinthians 15:57, 2 Chronicles 20:15,17,22, Psalm 60:12, Psalm 20:4-9 W = Wait on God's timetable for your marriage restoration. The enemy will try to have you become weary, discouraged and defeated, but always wait on the Lord. Trust Him to always be right on time, never early and never late. Isaiah 40:27-31, Galatians 6:9-10, 2 Thessalonians 3:13, Matthew 11:28, Psalm 27:14, Psalm 130:5 X = Examine your motives for standing. Put your relationship with God first. You must want your spouse s salvation before restoration of your marriage. Lamentation 3:40, 2 Corinthians 13:4-10, Psalm 26:2-3, Jeremiah 17:5-10 Y = You must allow God to change you first. Yield your will to God's will and way in your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you to be the woman/man of God that He wants you to be. While that is happening, God will be working on your spouse's heart. He will be changing your spouse in response to your prayers and pleas to your Lord God.
