Accommodation

In Delhi University

We have two accommodation partners Delhi Stay and Base Camp. You may choose which one you prefer (subject to availability)

DELHI STAY
Stay, Volunteer and Experience the true India!
Delhi Stay is one of the accommodation partners of AIESEC, it provides and manages accommodation for the interns of AIESEC in Delhi University. Delhi Stay is a one point contact for professionals , volunteers, and visitors for all sorts of accommodation needs plus it provides opportunities to explore India as an insider. We have a number of trainee houses for AIESEC in three categories (BASIC, STANDARD and LUXURY) keeping interns interest and budget in mind. Intern houses are standardized accommodation for interns, ensuring them a favourable working and living environment. These are all well located in heart of Delhi (in South Delhi) proving easy access to all markets, commercial centres, sight-seeing places. PLEASE NOTE: All the accommodation houses mentioned in the following slides are subject to availability. Each accommodation has its own set of rules, we request you to please follow and respect the rules and privacy of the place.

FACILITIES
Each intern enjoys the following facilities: A furnished room on sharing basis, which has a bed, bed mattress, bed linens Common kitchen with some BASIC UTENSILS , gas stoves and cylinder. Internet(wi-fi) Cleaning of apartment and kitchen once everyday (cleaning of rooms and bathroom is subject to availability of interns.) Changing of bed linens every 2 weeks Supervision of the flat On arrival each trainee is given a briefing session to show around the house, introduced to the flatmates and explained the flat share rules. Each trainee is provided on arrival with a set of keys to their wardrobe and main door. All general repair works, problems with fixtures and furnishings and housekeeping will be taken care by Delhistay. Trainees can choose to employ the Delhistay housekeeping staff for their personal laundry work by paying extra costs.

PERSONNEL
Each accommodation has housekeeping staff, employed by Delhistay. DelhiStay will take care of distributing duties, ensuring that the given tasks are accomplished and the staff salaries. A dedicated supervisor is employed by DelhiStay, who will act as a care taker for all apartments. He/She will ensure the proper working and up gradation of all fixtures and furnishings. Any complaints and repairs due can be brought to his/her notice by trainees. Key management of DelhiStay will always be in touch with the trainees and any complaints and problems with any facility or personnel can be brought to their notice and necessary action will be taken.

NOTE *All rental charges are to be paid in advance on arrival and the basic rent plus other charges in the first week, of each following month. * Kindly carry enough cash to make these payments on arrival.

BASIC ACCOMMODATION
These houses are the most affordable options for interns RENT : Security (Refundable): Rs. 3500 (around $63 USD) to be paid on arrival Basic Rent: Rs. 3500/month (around $63 USD) Other charges: Rs. 2000/month (around $36 USD) Total rent to be given every month : Rs.5500/month (around $99 USD) to be paid on arrival AC charges (if there is): as per actual electricity charges * For some ET and DT/ GCDP interns, this rent is subsidized by us. 3 Room Flat share- For 10 people


DESCRIPTION: Three bed room house with terrace garden, rooms on twin/three/four sharing, 3 shared bathrooms, common equipped kitchen, living area and sit-out. Located in Lajpat Nagar, a central locality of Delhi. Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linens, equipped kitchen, air cooler, cleaning etc. REMARKS: Close proximity to ring road, markets, best suited budget accommodation for interns.

4 Room Flat share- For 9 people


DESCRIPTION: Four bed room house with balcony, rooms on twin/three sharing, 2 shared bathrooms, common equipped kitchen, dining area and sit-out. Situated in Kailash Colony, a central locality of Delhi. Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linens, equipped kitchen, air cooler, cleaning etc. REMARKS: Close proximity to ring road, markets, best suited budget/higher paying accommodation for interns.

4 Room Flat share- For 9 people


DESCRIPTION: Four bed room house with three shared bathrooms, rooms on twin/three/four sharing, common equipped kitchen, living area and sit-out. Situated in Kailash Colony, a central locality of Delhi. Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linens, equipped kitchen, air cooler, cleaning etc.
REMARKS: Close proximity to ring road, markets, best budget accommodation for interns for group stays.

STANDARD ACCOMMODATION
These houses are located in a better locality with better fixtures and have an Air Conditioner, better than basic houses and designed to give some level of comfort along with a reasonably priced rent. Total Rent: Rs. 7500/month (around $134 USD) to be paid on arrival AC charges: as per the actual Refundable Security: Rs.5000 (around $89.5 USD) to be paid on arrival

INCLUDES: Electricity, Water, Gas cylinder, Internet ( wi-fi), a Refrigerator, Cleaning of the apartment and kitchen once every day, Garbage collection, Bed, mattress, Bed sheet, pillow cover and quilt Dry cleaning/washing/changing bed linens and curtains Any local body charges, Supervision of the flat General repairs: includes the visiting charges of plumber and electrician, general wear tear repair BASIC UTENSILS in the kitchen like pans, spatula, pressure cooker , a few plates and spoons, etc. EXCLUDES: Food : Consumables, grocery etc. Washing of clothes The next slide contains pictures and a description of one of the Standard Houses.

4 Room Flat share


DESCRIPTION: 4 bed room house with drawing and dinning, rooms on triple sharing, common equipped kitchen. Situated in Kailash hills, a central and posh locality of Delhi. Facilities: wi-fi, bed linens, equipped kitchen, air conditioning, cleaning etc.

LUXURY HOUSE
These houses are equivalent to staying in guest houses and hotels, located in a better localities with better fixtures and Air Conditioning, better than standard houses and designed to provide a good level of comfort. This Level of accommodation involves guesthouses and home stays.

Rent: Rs. 25000 onwards/month for single, 15000 onwards/month on twin sharing AC charges: as per the actual Refundable Security: Rs. 5000

DOS AND DONTS


Please go through the following rules , these need to be followed at all times. 1. A place in the residence is for the residents own use only. The room/house key should under no circumstance be lent to a third party. When needed (absence, etc) they must be left with the care taker. In case of loss of keys, Rs.100 is charged for the new set. 2. Remember that you are here for a purpose, so please respect the right of other residents to peace. In particular, please keep strictly quiet from 10.30pm, especially in communal areas and outside, near the buildings. Visitors must leave the premises at 11.00pm at the latest. In India, neighbours can complain to the police if there is a lot of noise caused after 11PM. 3. Under no circumstance and on no account are residents permitted to allow anyone to live in their trainee house. Visitors are not allowed to stay overnight illegally. Residents will be held responsible for the presence of an illegal guest in their room. Breaching this rule they risk losing the right to remain in the accommodation. Guests may be allowed by the Management, under certain conditions. 4. Residents are responsible for keeping their room and the communal areas in a clean and tidy condition. A) Residents must ensure the cleanliness of their room: B) The rooms, bathrooms, toilet, Communal areas, corridors, etc will be cleaned between 7am and 4pm everyday except Sunday. C) The fixed part of the windows, doors and other fixtures should under no circumstances be unscrewed or removed.

D) The shelves in the closet and in the cupboard should be protected by paper. E) Kitchen dustbins should only be used to throw away waste. F) Residents must dry their clean clothes in the appropriate premises or in the shower. Local authorities do not allow clothes or bed linen at the windows. G) Any damage should be reported immediately to the Housekeeper. Maintenance is carried out by the management and is charged to the person who is responsible for the damage. H) Pets are not allowed in the house. I) Residents should close the window and the door of the room, and also switch off lights, electrical appliances etc. when leaving in order to prevent any water or electricity loss. j) No Party or get together is allowed at the trainee house. Consuming alcohol in public places is illegal in Delhi, and the minimum age to drink is 25. Interns can consume alcohol within the premises of the house in moderation. 5. The residents are completely responsible for their personal belongings; management will not take responsibility, of any loss/theft etc. Expensive items should be kept locked in the cupboard or in the residents suitcase. 6. Placing of interns is completely the decision of management of DELHISYAY, interns may be shuffled/shifted from one house to the other under certain circumstances, this will be however kept to the minimum. 7. The applicable basic rent and other charges must be paid within the first week of every month, in case of non-payment a penalty of Rs.100 will be charged for the first consecutive week and there-after Rs.100 will be charged each day.

8. The DelhiStay intern houses are budget houses so rents are charged only weekly basis for a long term stay. If one stays for 1 or 2 days in a week no rent is chargeable, if one stay 3 or more days in a week rent is charged for the whole week. 9. When necessary, proceedings of expulsion can be started against a resident, particularly in the following cases : false declaration in the form for admission, any delay of more than 3weeks in paying the rent, involvement in any illegal and anti-social activity. The resident receives a written notice of, termination issued by the Management. The resident may formally appeal against it within one week to AIESEC. This procedure of appeal will not postpone the decision. 10. A security deposit of one month basic rent will be collected from each intern on his/her time of arrival and will be returned to him/her at the time of departure. In case the intern is leaving before the culmination of internship, a 15day notice period will need to be served for vacating the place and to recover the security deposit. Also the intern needs to change the FRRO with new address during this period itself and provide a photocopy of the same. If one fails to provide the changed FRRO during this period, the vacation notice will be considered void. 11. In India, the society is still very conservative and not safe at night. Certain activities like public display of affection (like kissing, etc in parks, markets, etc), ringing a neighbours doorbell late at night, staying outside the house till late at night, smoking in public, etc are not advisable. Any of these may lead to a complaint against you, and after repeated warnings, expulsion. Please respect our culture , societal rules and laws. 12. Copies of the interns passport, passport sized photograph, VISA, etc will be required by Delhi Stay for their records. Please carry them with you.

WHAT IS BASE CAMP?!


Base Camp is the headquarters of AIESEC in Delhi University. It also serves as a boarding house for AIESEC in Delhi Universitys interns during their internship period. It is Located in Kailash Colony, an upmarket and peaceful neighbourhood in South Delhi, at walking distance from the market and metro station.
At Base Camp, three kinds of accommodation are available for interns - STANDARD (triple sharing basis), DELUXE (twin sharing basis) and EXCLUSIVE (private room) keeping in mind the interns requirement and budget.

PLEASE NOTE: All the accommodations, mentioned in the following slides are subject to availability.
AIESEC BaseCamp has some set of rules and dos and don'ts, we expect you to follow and respect the rules and privacy of the place.

STANDARD ACCOMMODATION
In standard accommodation, one room will be shared by three trainees. Each room has a attached bathroom, separate refrigerator and independent air conditioning unit. Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linens, cleaning, etc. are provided. Food, personal laundry service and drinking water are not provided. Security & Advance rental : Rs.8,250(refundable) (around $148 USD) + one month advance rent. Room Rent:Rs.8,250 (around $148 USD) per person per month Additional Expenses:Rs.1,800 per person per month-electricity, internet,water, security, cleaning, waste disposal. Total Rent : Rs.10,050 (around $180 USD) per month Minimum Duration of Stay: 2 weeks

In Delux accommodation, one room will be shared by two trainees. Each room has a attached bathroom, separate refrigerator and independent air conditioning unit.Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linens,cleaning, etc. are provided. Food, clothes laundry, and drinking water are not included.

DELUXE

Security & Advance rental : Rs.12,500(refundable) (around $224USD) + one month advance rent.
Room Rent: Rs.12,500 (around $224 USD) per person per month Additional Expenses: Rs.2,500 (around $45 USD) per person per month-electricity, internet,water, security, cleaning, waste disposal. Total Rent : Rs. 15,000 (around $ 268.5 USD) Minimum Duration of Stay: 2 weeks

In Exclusive accommodation, a room is provided to the trainee on singlesharing basis.Every room has a attached bathroom, separate refrigerator and independent air conditioning unit.Facilities like: wi-fi, hot/cold water, bed linen, cleaning, etc are provided. Food, clothes laundry and drinking water are not provided. Security & Advance rental : Rs.20,000(refundable) (around $358 USD) +one month advance rent Room Rent: Rs.20,000 (around $358 USD) per person per month

EXCLUSIVE

Additional Expenses: Rs.5,000 ( around $89 USD) per person per month-electricity, internet, water, security, cleaning, waste disposal
Total Rent : Rs. 25,000 (around $447 USD) per month

Minimum Duration of Stay: 2 weeks

Each Accommodation has the following Facilities:


On arrival each trainee is given a briefing session to show around the house, meet the flatmates and explain the flat rules. Each trainee is provided on arrival with a set of keys to their wardrobe and main door. All trainees have sturdy beds and bed linens, provided by BaseCamp, which will be changed and washed fortnightly. Each room has been decently furnished to provide trainees a comfortable stay. All general repair works, problems with fixtures and furnishings and housekeeping will be taken care by Base Camp.

Facility Rules:

Each occupant is required to be co-operative and follow a moral and responsible code of conduct and are expected to abide by Indian laws. No Outside guests allowed inside the residential rooms. Even Staff may not enter without the permission of the occupants and only when required. This is to avoid any cases of theft etc. Outside guest may visit the Recreational facility, Offices and Cafeteria only. Toilet Cleaning and Linen Wash will be provided by the management fortnightly, apart from that the occupants are requested to maintain their own toilets and maintain hygiene.Complete cleaning kits will be available on charge.

Occupants must take to their own laundry using the washing machines available on hire inthe washing bay. Washing materials will also be available on charge. We reserve the right to refuse stay or immediately evict an occupant, incase of any complaints or illegal activities are reported. Smoking indoors is not allowed. Occupants are requested to use the balcony, or Terrace. Occupants are requested to avoid loud music or noise after 11 p.m (as per law) to avoid inconvenience to the neighbors and avoid any police complaints considering it is residential colony. Meal service is available on request and pre orders. Note: The management rules may change without notice and remain the sole discretion of the BaseCamp Management.
