CPD Officers
Detective Darrin Berg Detective Scott Holman Detective Derek Randall Sergeant Carey Ferrell Sergeant Rick Benko Sergeant Jeff Palmer Sergeant Tom Hallfrisch Corporal David Hallback Corporal Mark Laine Corporal Erik Blesener Corporal Steve Fiske Corporal Corey Schneberger Officer Scott Beckman Officer Eric Baker Officer Kerrick Johnson Officer Adam Reed Officer Charlie Martin

Personnel: Corporal David Hallback worked this week in a light duty capacity and following today has been cleared to report to normal patrol duties next week. As reported in last week's letter, Officer Kristina Kohlmeyer is scheduled to start working on April 12. Staff has been busy getting all the necessary equipment and taking care of the normal logistics of outfitting of an officer. A reminder to all:

of the Moose Lake High School for contraband. Nothing was located in the search.

Patrol: On Wednesday officers were dispatched to Walmart on a report of a male fleeing store security after attempting to leave the store with a cart of merchandise totaling over $2,000.00. The suspect was apprehended a short time later by officers without incident. The suspect, a 34 year old Superior, Wisconsin man was jailed at the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center and formally charged with one count of Felony Theft. Community Service: This week Detective Berg provided a tour of our police department to a couple of children. We occasionally get such requests and enjoy making it a reality. The kids left with some PD trinkets too!

Administrative Staff
Shannon Nelson Nicole Eckenberg

Detectives: This week our detectives continued to assist the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the Boundary Waters Drug Task Force in a multicounty methamphetamine investigation. This investigation remains ongoing and now is being handled by the BCA. On Monday Detective Scott Holman and his K-9 partner Raja were asked to assist the Moose Lake Police Department in a search

Training: This Thursday Administrative Secretary Nicole Eckenberg attended the second training of two which stemmed around advanced ad hoc reports. This will give us the ability to create reports out of our records management system (Shields). Our previous inability to pull certain statistical data out of our records management system is one area that was identified as lacking in the Law Enforcement Study. We are hopeful now that having this in-house knowledge will help us to retrieve data more effectively. We are also looking to get Shannon to both trainings in the future. If you have any questions about the information provided, feel free to contact me at the police department. Respectfully Submitted,

Terry Hill Deputy Chief of Police
