Why to Vote ~ Alex Matson

This fall is, for
many of us, a first opportu-
nity to vote. Voting is, for
me at least, one of life’s
pivotal milestones, like
getting to drive for the first
time, or turning twenty-
one. Voting age means so
much more than just get-
ting to stand inside of a
very patriotic-looking box
for a couple minutes. Vot-
ing is so much more than
being part of a huge num-
ber and subsequent per-
centage that they announce
on the news. Voting, for
me at least, is the first time
that anyone will value my
opinion equally with that
of my parents, my teach- than I am now. I’ll be be-
