Waterproofing and Surfacing for Exposed Car Park and Service Decks over Occupied Premises Triflex PDS - System Data Triflex PDS - Ramp- System Data NBS Specification Clauses Typical Sketch Details
Triflex PDS
The problems
Exposed car park decks are often: Inadequately protected from water ingress and environmental damage, for example Chlorides and Carbon Dioxide, leading to long term structural damage and damage to property Surfaced with unsuitable, low technology materials, or thin coat systems which are incapable of providing both the waterproofing and a durable, aesthetically pleasing surface finish. The consequences of under specification are system failure after a relatively short period of time Difficult for drivers and pedestrians to use effectively due to a lack of colour and design options Difficult to clean and maintain
The heavy duty, thick layer, fully reinforced Triflex PDS has been designed and developed over more than 20 years to fulfil the specific demands of the most demanding exposed parking areas, whether in refurbishment or new build applications.
Triflex PDS
Benefits
UNIQUE FULLY REINFORCED MEMBRANE - The system comprises a unique, fully reinforced membrane with a fully aggregate filled wearing course. The reinforced membrane ensures that the System has exceptional resistance to flexural fatigue, and can withstand the stresses from thermal expansion and contraction, dynamic loading and cracking which occur in exposed car park decks. The System provides exceptional structural protection for the main deck and details from the damaging ingress of water, Carbon Dioxide and Chlorides. The membrane is resistant to all common automotive fluids, frost and UV radiation The seamless application ensures that all details and potential areas of weakness can be incorporated within the same fully reinforced waterproofing and surfacing membrane DURABILITY - The PDS is a heavy duty, thick layer system with a dry film thickness greater than 4mm. With its fully aggregate filled, anti skid wearing course, the PDS is suitable as the waterproofing and surfacing system for heavily trafficked car park and service deck environments (BBA Durability Statement - 20years) ELASTOMERIC - The Triflex PDS is elastomeric, which when combined with the unique reinforcement, provides resistance to dynamic cracking and flexural fatigue which cannot be provided by other systems. All regular and unforeseen movement is comfortably accommodated within the system. This makes the system particularly suitable for high movement and high risk areas such as trafficked decks over occupied premises COMPATIBILITY - The system can be used to overlay concrete, asphalt, HRA, SMA and some existing membranes subject to testing, avoiding the disruption and costs associated with removal CURE TIMES - The PDS has low cure times compared to PU and EPOXY materials providing advantages to the client and contractor. The final finish coat can be trafficked after only 3 hours COLOURS - Our range of finish options and special colours ensure the clients aesthetic requirements can be fulfilled. Dedicated pedestrian walkways and safe zones, together with colour coding can be incorporated from the design stage JOINTS - The system can be combined with the Triflex projoint system to provide single source liability for the total waterproofing and surfacing package CERTIFIED PROTECTION - The Triflex PDS has full BBA certification, confirming that it has been tested and approved at the highest level RAMPS - For these areas, the Triflex PDS - Ramp offers optimum abrasion resistance and traction characteristics through the use of a basalt split aggregate and optional traction strips CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE - The hard wearing PDS can be easily cleaned and maintained using conventional methods
Triflex PDS
Supply Options
For larger projects, the PDS System is available in 1000kg re-usable containers, reducing wastage and the impact on the environment.

Waterproofing and Surfacing for Internal and External Car Park Decks Triflex DFS - System Data Triflex DFS - Ramp- System Data Triflex DFS - External- System Data NBS Specification Clauses Typical Sketch Details
Triflex DFS
The problems
Internal and external car park decks are often: Dark, dismal uninviting environments Inadequately protected from water ingress and environmental damage, for example Chlorides and Carbon Dioxide, resulting in expensive structural damage Surfaced with unsuitable, low technology materials, or thin coat systems which do not provide a long term, durable, aesthetically pleasing surface finish Patchy and uneven as a result of surface wear Difficult for drivers and pedestrians to use effectively due to poor design and signage Difficult to clean and maintain
The heavy duty, thick layer Triflex DFS is suitable for almost any substrate likely to be encountered in the car park environment both during refurbishment and new build. The thick layer system can mask deck imperfections and profiles which would reflect through thin coat systems. At Triflex we understand that the majority of wear generally occurs on the ground floor, internal decks and ramps. The Triflex DFS is designed to withstand this mechanical stress
Triflex DFS
Benefits
DURABILITY - The DFS is a heavy duty, thick layer system with a dry film thickness greater than 4mm. With its' fully aggregate filled wearing course, the DFS is suitable for the waterproofing and surfacing, or surfacing only of heavily trafficked ground floor, internal and external car park decks PROTECTION - In addition to offering heavy duty surfacing, the DFS offers waterproofing and protection from the ingress of Carbon Dioxide and Chlorides to what are often neglected decks. The system can withstand the stresses from thermal expansion and contraction, frost and UV radiation and is resistant to all common automotive fluids THICK LAYER - The 4mm thick system helps mask deck imperfections, providing a more aesthetically pleasing, easier to maintain system. The system thickness allows even profiled substrates such as lightly tamped concrete, heavily brushed concrete or crimped asphalt to be overlaid without the original profile reflecting through COMPATIBILITY - The system can be used to overlay concrete, asphalt, HRA, SMA and some existing membranes subject to testing RAPID CURE TIMES - Allowing maximum flexibility in approach and the minimum disruption to the client and users. The maximum cure time before trafficking by vehicles of any of the system components is 3 hours LOW TEMPERATURES - The system will cure at temperatures as low as 0C DETAILING - Fully reinforced details can be incorporated at upstands, transitions etc. to provide total waterproofing COLOURS - Our range of finish options, and special colours ensure the clients' aesthetic requirements can be fulfilled. Dedicated pedestrian walkways and safe zones, together with colour coding can be incorporated from the design stage JOINTS - The system can be combined with the Triflex projoint system to provide single source liability for the total waterproofing and surfacing package RAMPS - For these areas, the Triflex DFS - Ramp offers optimum abrasion resistance and traction characteristics through the use of a basalt split aggregate and optional traction strips CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE - The hard wearing DFS can be easily cleaned and maintained using conventional methods
Triflex DFS-External Suitable for external main deck areas (subject to conditional survey)

Supply Options
For larger projects the DFS is available in 1000kg re-usable containers, reducing wastage and the impact on the environment.

Suitability
As thinner layer systems, Triflex Deck Coating Systems are only suitable for smoother substrates, in low and medium volume car park environments. In high volume car parks, such as those directly connected to retail, the heavier duty Triflex DFS is recommended. Deck Coating Systems are particularly suitable for smooth, power floated concrete decks which can cause a potential slip hazard when wet.

Triflex DMS
The problems
In the majority of car parks, the markings are: Of poor quality, wearing out in a relatively short period of time and requiring regular replacement. If the original markings are not removed prior to replacement, the resultant build up is unsightly Difficult to see, particularly when badly worn Visually unexciting with white and yellow being the only commonly used colours Difficult to understand due to the use of small symbols and difficult to read signage Not used to provide assistance with deck identification and location
The problems
The wide range of Triflex road marking systems includes fast curing spray applied line markings, profiled markings and cycle route markings. The Triflex Cryl M264 material can be used to provide traction and wear strips on car park ramps. For further information, please contact Triflex directly.

Weatherproof, Anti-Carbonation Systems for Walls, Columns and Soffits Triflex ACS - System Data Triflex ACS - Test Data Triflex Colorcret - System Data NBS Specification Clauses
Triflex ACS
The problems
Untreated walls, columns and soffits: Are vulnerable to the damaging ingress of Carbon Dioxide, Chlorides and water. The resultant structural damage from long term exposure can result in serious safety issues, and can be extremely expensive and disruptive to repair Can create a dark, dismal environment in which users do not feel safe. Dark car parks are known to suffer increased levels of personal and property crime which will influence users to take their business elsewhere Appear decayed and neglected as a result of soot deposits and differential weathering, creating an unattractive, light absorbing environment Walls, columns and soffits treated with standard masonry type coatings although offering an aesthetic improvement will not give the level of protection provided by dedicated Anti Carbonation Systems
Triflex ACS
Triflex Colorcret
PROTECTION - The system offers a barrier to the damaging ingress of Carbon Dioxide Sd CO2 value > 50m, Chlorides, and water with proven test results DURABILITY - Inspections of actual applications indicate an estimated system life in excess of 15 years APPEARANCE - The system has a semi gloss, smooth finish with high opacity PROPERTIES - The system is UV resistant, moisture vapour permeable, non-yellowing and non-fading. The system achieves excellent adhesion to concrete and masonry substrates COLOURS - Triflex Colorcret is available in almost any colour allowing the client to choose combinations to provide the right balance between aesthetics, light reflectivity and maintenance TESTING - The Triflex Colorcret has been tested for its protection properties against the most common forms of environmental damage
