rescue challenge
Roco Rescue Challenge is a super-charged two-day event that will put team skills to the test. Realistic scenarios, rapid deployment drills, simulated IDLH practice drills, and high angle rescue evolutions will challenge the most experienced rescue teams. While not a competition, trophies are awarded to the top performing teams in the Individual Skills Evaluation (IPEs) and in Rocos infamous Yellow Brick Road. The multi-stage scenarios begin with basic rescue operations and quickly progress to more complex conned space and elevated rescue scenarios. Roco Rescue Challenge meets the annual rescue practice requirements of 1910.146 while providing realistic practice drills in all six conned space types. Written documentation will be provided to each team following the event.
Participants will also be able to interact with other teams from around the nation as they share ideas and rescue experiences. All rescue teams are welcome and observer registration is available. Dates and locations for Roco Rescue Challenge can be found online.
Its important to select scenarios that are close representations of actual rescues that you may need to perform. Thats what Roco Rescue Challenge is all about realistic practice scenarios under demanding conditions that allow your team to be better prepared, operate more safely and reduce time on the scene. The centerpiece of our new harness is the patented (ANSI approved) Cobra buckle from AustriAlpin. Cobra buckles are, without exception, the worlds safest, most nely crafted, and strongest load-bearing, and quick release fasteners available. Cobra buckles are among the only safety buckles on the market that will not open while under load. We have also widened the waist strap of the harness to distribute the load across a greater surface area, which results in more comfort for the wearer. Another new feature is a Fall Indicator located near the dorsal D-ring. A red marker will appear if the harness has been subjected to excess forces. Signature features of the CMC / Roco brand remain, which include heavy-duty work-positioning side D-rings, Velcro Web-Keepers, and a larger center D-ring that will accept up to three rescue-size carabiners.
