7th INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION OF VEVEY

• Create a photographic project in less than one year

• Deadline for the submission of projects: 30 April 2009
• Final projects will be shown at the Images’ festival in September 2010

PRESENTATION OF THE COMPETITION

The Grand prix international de photographie de Vevey is an international competition organised by the
Foundation Vevey, ville d’images and launched as part of Images, a visual art festival.

The winning project will be awarded CHF 30’000 (approx. € 20’000) to allow its realization and be
exhibited at next year’s festival.

The jury made up of different personalities from the visual art and photography world. The jury will appoint the
Grand Prix prize winner, as well as the other prizes and distinctions. The competitors will automatically take
part to the associated prizes and distinctions.

The jury has the possibility to choose other projects for particularly mentions

The inscription to the contest has to be made online, with an entry form to fill online on
www.images.ch, deadline on 30th April 2009.

CONDITION OF PARTICIPATION :
• The competition is open to artists and professional photographers, or in a process of formation.
• Participant may only submit one project.
• Participation is forbidden to employees of the organising committee, sponsors and partners.

SENDING SPÉCIFICATIONS
- The files must weigh less than 2 kilos.
- The files weight more than 2 kilos will not be returned.

Projects proposals from abroad Switzerland have to be marked: “No commercial value. Customs value
only”. FedEx or DHL mailings also have to be marked in this way. Project proposal sent without following
the rules of entry will be disqualified from the competition

PROJECTS
Projects must include the following:
- 8 to 15 photographic prints measuring no larger than 29.7x42 cm (A3), not framed, glued, or mounted.
The prints must have a good quality, for the jury to have the best idea of a current or past work.
Every technique is accepted. (The name and the address must cleary figure on the back of every item)
- Title and summary of the project (800 characters maximum)
- A project outlines (one A4 page maximum in French or in English).
- A biography (or CV one A4 page maximum in French or in English)
- A CD with all the images, in jpeg, 300 dpi, and the title
(all the files will stay confidential and will be use only if the candidate win a prize or a mention)
- The candidates can, if they think it is necessary, join 3 complementary documents maximum (maps,
drawings, etc) to complete their project presentation
- The incomplete project will be disqualified.
REGISTRATION FEE
The participants are required to pay the registration fee as follow:
The payment as to be made as the indications provide on www.images.ch
• 20.- CHF or € 15 (not requiring return of the project)
• 35.- CHF or € 25.- (requiring return of the project)
• The projects not return will be destroyed
• The checks are allowed with an increase of € 5 for the bank costs.

AUTHORISATIONS
Competitors are responsible for obtaining the necessary authorisations (protection of privacy) prior to
submission of their entry into the competition. The organising committee will not accept any liability for that.

RIGHTS
The Foundation Vevey, Ville d’Images reserves the right to reproduce and distribute all or part of the prize
winning projects in the context of the promotion of the Grand prix international de photographie de Vevey and
the Images festival and also shares the rights with Sponsors of the respective prizes. The prize-winner of the
project will remain the sole copyright owner.

JURY
A pre-selection will be made by the organising committee prior to the Jury’s deliberations to ensure
consistency. Competitors accept that the Jury’s decision will be final and agree not to take any legal action
against any members of the Jury or organising committee both collectively and individually.

PRIZES
The Grand Prix, special prizes as well as the distinction will be given in the opening ceremony of the Festival
Images.

COMPLETION DEADLINE
The prize-winner of the Grand prix will be required to deliver the complete project no later than the 1july 2010,
following the instructions of the Jury and organizing committee.

RESPONSABILITY
Le Grand prix international de photographie de Vevey, and the Foundation Vevey, Ville d’Images will not
accept any liability for the even loss or damage of the projects during the shipment, whatever the cause.
Taking part of the contest implies full acceptance of the present rules and regulations. The Jury decisions will
be final. The present rules and regulations are subject to Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Vevey.
