Bibliography Introduction: To begin with, our project is sharing a remarkable story about the evolution of an iconic brand and the company that bears its name. Through the time, many beverages were put on the market, but none of them has managed to conquer the corld such as Coca-Cola did. In other words, the Coca-Cola Company has created not only an ordinary beverage, but an imposing trademark known worldwide. Since its birth at a soda fountain, in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, in 1886, Coca-Cola has been a catalyst for social interaction and inspired inovation.

History: The birth of Coca-Cola The Coca-Cola Company traces its beginning to 1886, when an Atlanta pharmacist, dr. John Pemberton, began to produce Coca-Cola syrup for sale in fountain drinks. The inventor created the beverage while he was trying to find a cure for soldiers morphine addiction. Initially, the beverage was considered a drug. Frank Robinson was the one who first scripted Coca-Cola into the flowing letters, which has become the famous logo of today. Asa Candler In 1887, another Atlanta pharmacist and businessman, Asa Candler, bought the formula for Coca-Cola for 2.300$. Whith Asa Candler, now at the helm, the CocaCola Company increased syrup sales by over 4000%, between 1890 and 1900. Advertising was a important factor in John Pemberton and Asa Candlers success, and,as a result, the drinks was sold across the United States and Canada. Death of the soda fountain, rise of the bottling industry In 1903, bottling operations begin in Canada, Cuba and Panama, becoming the first three countries outside the United States to bottle Coca-Cola.The first bottling plants are opened in 1919 in Europe, in Paris and Bordeaux. Until 1960s, people enjoyed corbonated beverages at the local soda fountain, or ice cream salon. The soda fountain counter served as a meeting place for peaople of all ages. But in time, the soda fountain declined in popularity. Now, bottled soft drinks and fast food restaurants become popular. New Coke The formula of Coca-Cola is changed for the first time in 99 years, in April 1985, and Coca-Cola becomes the first soft drink consumed in space. In 2000, the CocaCola Company sponsors the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. In 2002 Vanilla Coke is introduced in United States, in 2004 Diet Coke with lime is introduced, and in 2005 CocaCola Zero makes its debut. In 2011 the Coca-Cola Company celebrates 125 years of brand Coca-Cola. Today, products of the Coca-Cola Company are consumed at a rate of more than a billion drinks per day. The story of Coca-Cola and Santa The Santa Claus, we all know and love - that big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard- did not always look that way. The Coca-Cola Company began its Christmas advertising in 1920s in an effort to increase sales during the slower winter months. Haddon Sundblom looked to the poem A visit from St. Nicholas, and he created the big, red, jolly vision of the Santa That the company used for more than 30 years. By then, the popular image of Santa Claus was the Coca-Colas Santa.

Production: Ingredients: carbonated water, sugar, caffeine, phosphoric acid, caramel color, natural flavorings. Formula of natural flavorings: The extract formula of Coca-Colas natural flavoring its a trade secret. All other ingredients are known, except natural flavors. The original copy of the formula was held in SunTrust Bank for 86 years. In 2011, the original secret formula was moved from the SuntTrust Banks vault to another vault. A popular Myth states that only two executives have access to the formula and each executive has only half the formula. The remaining employees know the formulation process. Ira Glass revealed on his PRI radio show that the secret formula to Coca-Cola had been uncovered in a 1974 newspaper. The formula found matched the formula found in Pembertons diary. Competitors: Being one of the most popular beverages, the Coca-Cola has to do with many competitors in the industry. The main rival in the soft drinks industry, known as the second Cola, is called Pepsi. Around the world, many local brands compete with Coke. In south and central America, Kola Real is a growing competitor to Coca-Cola. Tropicola, a domestic drink, is served in Cuba instead of Coca-Cola. In Turkey, ColaTurka, in Iran and Middle Coast, ZamZam Cola and ParsiCola, in some parts of China, China Cole, in Slovenia, cockta, are some of the brand competitors. Advertising: 1941 saw the first use of the nickname Coke as an official trademark for the product, with a series of avertisments informing consumers that Coke means Coca-Cola. In 1971, a song from Coca-Cola commercial called Id like to teach the world to sing, produced by Billy Davis, became a hit single. Many of their television commercials for Coca-Cola featured movie stars, sports heroes and popular singers, as Whitney Houston. Coca-Cola has gone through a number of different advertisings slogans in its long history, including The pause that refreshes, Id like to but the world a Coke and Coke it is. In 2011 the Coca-Cola begn the share a Coke campaign, where the Coca-Cola logo was replaced on the bottles with first names. Coca-Cola used the most popular names to print the bottles. Conclusion and motivation: Coca-Cola touches the lives of million people each and every day. From special ocasions to exceptional moments in everyday life, Coca-Cola in there. The brand has become a special part of peoples lives. It reached its missions, to refresh the world, to inspire

moments of optimism and happiness, to create value and make difference. Coca-Cola keps adapting itself with the changing environment and the demands of the modern world.
