Awards: Marquette Ignatius Scholarship, Marquette Deans Transfer Scholarship, Marquette Phi
Theta Kappa Scholarship Annotations: Flying Falcons: Through flying falcons I was able to help kids work on their reading and comprehension while also coming up with creative ideas to help engage them. Working with an array of children helped me become more flexible, and forced me to really think what would help an individual childs needs. This was a valuable experience for me learning how to deal with different personalities in children and being able to think on the spot to engage them with their work.

Prospect Partners: Prospect Partners is a program that helps middle school children adjust to what high school will be like. This was more of a social program to help children who are less socially inclined to feel comfortable with new experiences. This experience furthered my skill in solving issues between two people. Often there would be disagreements between students and I would help by mediating until the issue was solved.

Bogies: This restaurant was my first real job. I learned many valuable skills in dealing with costumers and different people at the work place. I also had to work on organizing myself since I was in college and working to be sure I stayed on top of everything. This job helped me feel responsible and showed that my hard work pays off.

Jimmy Johns: Jimmy Johns is my current job and has already taught me many new skills. This job is a lot faster passed than Bogies, so I learned how to do a good job and to do it fast. I also learned how to manage whats around me and really take initiative to getting things done. There are a lot of jobs to do as an in shopper and learning them all you have to be able to notice when one area needs more attention than others.

Round Table: Round Table is a club that I was very committed to in High School. We put together a literary magazine for our school. This experience helped me learn how to critique different pieces of art, and also appreciate students work. This was my first club I was a part of that really taught me to be committed to something Im passionate about.

Writing Society: Writing Society is a club that helps critique students work as well, but I have more responsibility here. This experience has taught me to write professionally when making promotions for certain events we hold. Also it taught me how to organize bigger events for the group.

Christian Faith through a Cultural Context: This course was one that challenged me and fascinated me. With professor Omar leading the class he opened my eyes to different religions and interconnectedness between different faiths. This course was a lot of work in writing on different topics of religion and also to critically think of my own experiences. We were also encouraged to attend other

churches, temples, and services. The experience was life changing and engaging and helped me become a better person.

Childrens Literature: Childrens Literature was a fabulous course because it included my two favorite things, young adult fiction and writing. This course taught me how to write and research very old texts and helped me analyze from a new perspective. This class also inspired me further to pursue my career in publishing of YA books.
