- Terry used the fourth amendment because the teacher searched her backpack without her consent or a search warrant. There for the teacher did an illegal search and seizure. I believe that the court ruled in favor of Terry, because there was probable cause that Terry was doing something illegal, as Terry was smoking in front of a teacher, and since there is probable cause the teacher can search her without her consent. 2.- Mr. Acton used the fourth amendment to appeal because the school was searching him without a search warrant. THere was also no probable cause showing that he did drugs and /or alcohol. I believe that the court ruled in favor of the school because anything that happens on school grounds applies to the school. ( I believe that checking students for drugs and/or alcohol is not a search, but just a test) 3.- They used the first amendment because the first amendment gives people the right to protest, by wearing the armbands they were protesting. I believe that the court ruled in favor of the students because this is a clear violation of the first amendment. Therefore denying the bill or rights. But the court could have also ruled in favor of the school because they were on school property there for the school could of made them take it off because they went against the schools policy. 4.- I believe that people can express their displeasure with the team name because of the first amendment that gives them the right to protest, but the team doesn't need to change their names because the first amendment gives them the freedom of speech and having to change the name because, someone doesn't like it is a violation of freedom of speech. (I personally believe that the name Redskins should stay because they are expressing everything thats good about the Native American tribes.) 5.- I think that when you do a locker search in a school is a good example of a warrantless search. Whatever they are doing in a school lockers apply to the school therefore the school is allowed to check the lockers whenever they want. Because if someone is doing something illegal in a school it affects the school. 6.- The third amendment was passed because during the revolutionary war, the british would put soldiers into Revolutionaries households and made sure the household gave them food, clothing and shelter. Aswell Revolutionaries can't talk about the revolution with british soldiers in their house. So the third amendment protects forcefully soldiers being put in a household without the consent of the owner of the house. The first amendment was passed, because during the revolutionary war, if the british didn't like what a newspaper was saying then they would stop the news station. If they didn't like what a person was saying they would put them in jail. The pilgrims came to the new

world for freedom of speech so the first amendment protects your freedom of speech, religion, press, petition, protest and right to assembly.
