Air pollution is suicide

By Sasha Kozlov April 30, 2014 Volume1# Issue1#

Air pollution not only harms people but also the environment, like for example, animals, plants, and the weather. Those animals that live close to factories are always in danger because they breathe. Pollution is a serious problem, for people are killing themselves and the environment around them. Can you imagine that some metropolitan areas in the U.S. have an annual level of fine particle pollution is 50% higher than the health standard allows? Thats also true. North America is one of the best examples of areas that have a lot of air pollution. It all happens because there are a lot of things that make the air unclean and most of this stuff is done by people. Like big factories, burning plastic, gasoline, cutting trees (which provide oxygen) and wastes that get burned. There is a thing that measures air pollution and that is called PM2.5. PM.2.5 is the term for particulate matter that is 2.5 micrometers or smaller in size. Because the air pollution matter is smaller than 2.5 micrometers that is how people measure air pollution.

Air Pollution

Imagine the year is 2222 everybody is wearing masks and go outside only if its an emergency. It all happened because of unclean air. The air looks like dust. People can hardly see anything when theyre outside. The population dropped by 3 billion people. Theres almost no oxygen left. Air pollution is a problem right now, humans cause it and it happens all over the world. Its one of the most serious problems in the world. Fine particle pollution mostly occurs because of coal fired power plants and diesel engines. It can be deadly but it can also cause sicknesses like: asthma attacks, heart attacks, strokes, and lung cancer.

Air pollution happens every season especially in winter. Like in the state of Utah in America happens to struggle the most in winter with fine particle pollution it had 18 PM.2.5. Also a weird fact is that Pittsburg has experienced the most days with spikes of fine particle pollution. It had seven exceeds in seven different days. There were different opinions about air pollution. For example Joel Schwartz thinks that air pollution is not a big problem in the world. But it is. If a lot of people and animals are dying from it that is a problem. To help stop air pollution we should use plastic less, walk or drive on bike to places that are close to you, use public transport and use less coal fire. These are the main problems; if humans would avoid these problems we would breathe clean air and have more sunny days.
