Performs field visits to work sites to check progress, verify compliance with instructions, and respond to inquiries and problems from crews and contractors. Supervises the locating and revising of all elementary, connection and arrangement drawings to document changes. Supervises the completion of map work orders, conversion work orders and map corrections. Supervises the reproduction of section maps, feeder maps or other documents needed for appropriate project. Supervises the revision and updating of transformer load reports or other management information reports. Supervises the preparation, maintenance, and revision of records, maps, programs and schedules. Attends pre-construction conferences to determine project schedules and requirements. Answers questions from departmental personnel concerning transformer and pole load reports, work orders, distribution maps and consultation documents. Assists and reviews work of subordinates. Provides training as required. Participates in the selection, hiring and performance appraisal of subordinates, and performs other personnel/administrative tasks. Consults and coordinates with manufacturers to select and order material or equipment for projects. Reviews agreements with consultants and other cooperating agencies. Supervises the review of proposals for new electrical engineering services and the determination of type and size of installation for electrical service. Acts as interdivisional liaison for coordinating the various phases of designing, planning and preparation of project details. Serves on committees concerned with standardization and improvement of specifications, materials, methods and procedures. Performs other related duties of comparable level/type as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience/Education: Three years experience equivalent to an Associate Electrical Engineering Specialist and Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work). Certification/License: Current Washington State drivers license or evidence of equivalent mobility. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Desired Qualifications: Strong supervisor and leadership skills, with a team player attitude and the ability manage multiple priorities. Three or more years of work with electrical distribution systems. Experience working within a public utility. Experience with AutoCAD Map, ArcGIS, and knowledge of major computer database application programs. Strong customer service and communication skills.
