Bienvenido a Per!
Hay muchos lugares para viajar con su familia! Una pregunta grande que gente tiene es

to travel with young children. In this survival guide, traveling with children is made easy.
With kids, Arequipa Peru is a fabulous vacation destination. Some children are cold on
vacation, but in Peru, the warm weather is perfect for the little children. Also, Arequipa has
many activities for the kids and cultural information to educate them. This survival guide
gives information about food, shopping, transportation and accommodations to help you on
your vacation in Peru.
When travelling to Peru, there are many things you need to know about the language. In
Peru, there are unique characteristics in the language. With Spanish, there are different
languages that are used. For example, the people speak Spanish and the native languages of
Quechua and Aymara. The type of Spanish is called castellano, meaning that there is no
slang in the language in Peru. However, some Anglicisms are in the language of Peru.
Sometimes in Peru, the people switch gender and number when talking. Also, they use many
diminutives for all things. This new type of Spanish is one thing to know.

In Peru, the mountains are incredible to see and hike. Close to the city is the Misti Volcano.
The volcano has snow on the top of the mountain. It is very cold on the top of the volcano,
so the snow doesnt melt. Misti is also called "Goat Mountain." Another tourist attraction is
the Plaza de Armas. In the Plaza, there are many local stands and opportunities to buy
souvenirs of your vacation. At the local stands, there are things for all members of the
family. Complete your day eating in the Plaza where there are delicious restaurants. You
will go to the Plaza many times during your vacation because the Plaza de Armas is the
center of action in the city of Arequipa, Peru.

hotels are more expensive than hostels. Both
provide excellent service.

Hay muchos restaurantes en Arequipa.
Todos los restaurantes son interesantes y
diferentes, pero hay unos que son ms
buenos que otros:
- El restaurante de Zigzag es el
restaurante de ms audiencia en
Arequipa. Tienen comida Peruano muy
bueno. La mayora de los platos
principales cuestan quince a veinticinco
dlares. Desafortunadamente, no tienen
una carta para nios, pero tienen
muchas opciones.
- Hatunapa tiene comida ms asequible;

There are many restaurants in Arequipa. All
of the restaurants are interesting and
different, but there are some that are much
better than others:
- The Zig Zag restaurant is the highest
rated restaurant in Arequipa. They have
very good Peruvian food. The majority
of the entrees cost fifteen to twenty five
dollars. Unfortunately, the dont have a
kids menu, but they have many options.
- Hatunapa has more affordable; the
majority of their entrees cost four to six
dollars. All of their dishes are potatoes
with different toppings. They dont
have a kids menu, but many of their
dishes are good for kids.

near the main square, even with kids.
- To see more, consider a bus tour. You
can find tours in the main square. The
tours are two to four hours and cost six
to ten dollars.
- Be careful! The traffic in Arequipa is
really bad. Park your car and walk, take
a bus, or take a taxi.

In Arequipa, there are many things to do.
We recommend some over others:
- Colca Canyon is the third most visited
attraction in Peru. Its a hundred miles
(one hundred and sixty kilometers) to
the northwest of Arequipa. The Canyon
is very beautiful. Some of the
attractions in the Canyon are the
condors and the archaeological sites.
Many companies offer tours of the
canyon. The tours are good for kids
because they are in busses.
- Another very interesting attraction is
the Santa Catalina Monastery. It is in
Arequipa, and you can visit it when
you want. You have to walk to see the
monastery, so its not very good for
kids. However, its very interesting and
beautiful, and we recommend it.
