People need to know that we are on their side. A dis- cussion of abortion, whether in private or public, should acknowledge the pain that most of us feel about it, whether we describe ourselves as pro-life or not. The psychological attitude to take and to convey is, "You are not my enemy. We are in this painful situation together, and need to help each other out of it." The individual who may react angrily to a pro-life homily is best approached with a frame of mind simi- lar to which we care for those afflicted by personal disasters. We are dealing with good people who have pain, not with enemies. Priests for life.org

Care & Share 2014
Did you know that for every dollar contributed to Care and Share, 98 cents goes directly to helping fund these needs and other important ministries and services provided to Catholics right here at home? It is a fact that your support of Care and Share 2014 will touch each and every church in our eastern Montana diocese. One doesnt have to look outside of our diocese to help the poorest of our brothers and sisters in Christ! Thank you for caring and thank you for loving each other in Christ's name. Mass Intentions As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! Stewardship
June 8, 2014 - Pentecost
"To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Corinthians 12:7
To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit you must open your heart and let Him in! Open your heart and be grateful for all the gifts God has given us. Regard- less of your circumstance, God has given us all blessings. What we do with those gifts will determine our eternal fate. Generously sharing your gifts with those that are less fortunate certainly puts us on the path to Heaven. The Merciful Out Look Is? Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, urges lay Catholics to respond to Christs thirst for souls by developing a merciful outlooka search for occasions that call for mercy. Following John Paul II in Dives in Misericordia, (Dives in Misericordia (Latin for "Rich in Mercy"), Gaitley sees the merciful outlook as a bilateral reality, As we give it, we also receive it. The merciful outlookhas to do with evangelization, not proselytization, he writes in Consoling the Heart of Jesus. It is authentic love for the other person. Derived from Christ the Source, it changes both giver and receiver.
Prayer for the New Evangelization Lord Jesus Christ, you have given Your Church the mis- sion to proclaim the Gospel to all the nations. May our efforts to fulfill this mission be guided by the Holy Spirit so that we might be a leaven of new life, salt of the earth and a light to the world, worthy missionaries and faithful to You. Make us valiant witnesses to the Faith of the Church and inspire us to speak the truth with love. Help us to com- municate to to others the joy that we have received. Permit us to be united but no closed, humble but not fear- ful, simple but not nave, thoughtful but not overbearing, contemporary, but not superficial, respectful of others but boldly your disciple's. May we bear into the world the hope of God who is Christ the Lord who rose from the dead and lives with and reigns with God and the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever . Amen PCCW Have a wonderful summer and if you find you have spare time on your hands, St. Marys needs volunteers for the summer months. Thank you for your consideration

A Prayer for Church Unity Almighty and eternal God, You have promised that there will someday be but one fold and one Shep- herd. Hasten that day, we pray You, in Your most merciful kindness and generosity. Pour the light of Your grace into the minds of our non-Catholic friends so that they may see the truth, and fully realize that the truth is one and undivided. Give them also the strength of will needed to follow in the direction of the light You give them. Let us, their neighbors and friends, not be a hin- drance to their conversion by our bad example. Rather let Your goodness be made clear to them by the virtue of our lives. Then may they finally all be brought to You, the Light that enlightens every man who comes into the world. Amen.
