Assignment in this subject is compulsory. Failure to submit the assignment will result in automatic
failure (FL) and students will not be eligible to sit for the final examination. Students are required to
ensure that assignment should comply with the following instructions. Failure to do so would inite a
penalty.

students(this grouping not necessarily the same as the tutorial grouping)

&ou are required to write a report on any accounting standard of your choice issued
by #a$a%s&an '((o)nt&n* Stan"ar"s +oar" (#'S+). !he report should contain
brief description of the standard$ the issue4adantage4debate on the chosen standard
and the iews of expert opinion on that issue4adantage4debate.
i. &ou are required to choose any one accounting standard and need to identify
the issue4adantage4debate in that standard.
ii. !he 2hosen accounting standard should not oerlap with other 5roups6 choice
and so you hae informed the lecturer of your choice of standard during
lecture4tutorial hours.
iii. &ou will hae to include an academic4professional opinion on the
issue4adantage4debate on that chosen standard
Task 2 (Not more than 3000 !or"s)
i. &ou are required to deelop a case study releant to the topics that are coered
in this subject. A case study is a synthesis of real life situation and you are
expected to choose an issue or method that exists or existed in an
organi/ation4a company and hae to deelop a case study.
ii. !he issue or method to be synthesi/ed as a case study could be based upon a
news happened not earlier than April )117.
iii. !he 2ase Study should be presented in the format as gien below
a. A brief description of the company4organi/ation is to be gien
b. A detailed description of the issue or method which inoles identifying the
precise angle of problems and4or opportunities relates to any topic(s) coered
in this subject.
c. 8ased on the case$ you hae to frame minimum two questions that are
releant to the problems4opportunities described and identified in the preious
section
d. 9etailed answers to the questions should be gien by identifying the right
strategies and theories.
