WELSH rugby stars gave
their best try at supporting
the opening of Glandy Cross
Ltd fish and chip bar at their
forecourt site in Efailwen
,Clunderwen, recently.
Colin Owen, of Oil 4 Wales,
brought along Dan Biggar,
Ken Owens, and Dafydd
Jones to officially open the
chip shop.
Members of Crymych Rug-
by Club U14s were present to
meet the sporting stars and to
be presented with the Scar-
lets Cup.
The Scarlets Cup was won
when the Pembrokeshire
champions challenged the
Carmarthenshire champions
Burry Port at Parc-y-Scarlets
recently. Crymych U14s were
victorious 50-0.
They remain unbeaten this
season and enjoyed a fun day
at Glandy Cross during the
official opening. The Bucking
Rugby Ball, Gladiator Joust
and Rugby Ball Hole Chal-
lenge was busy all afternoon.

MP hails council for
backing young carers

CEREDIGIONS MP Mark
Williams has praised the
County Council for their
adoption of the Ceredigion
young carers charter.
He said: Its really pleas-
ing to see Ceredigion County
Council take the lead, and
see the work the Red Cross
have undertaken on their
behalf. Their consultation
revealed in many instances
carers identified one to one
support as a key priority.
Hamper win
treasured by
lucky family
Treasure hunt winners (7097150)
TWENTY families took part
in this years annual Easter
Treasure Hunt, centred
around the Cardigan Castle
Restoration project.
Run over the course of a
fortnight, it was won by a
family of four from Har-
bourne, Birmingham Roy
and Elizabeth Thomson and
their daughters, Thora, aged
four, and Agnes, aged 18
months.
The prize was a hamper of
wines and chocolates donat-
ed by the Co-op in Cardigan.
The hamper was collected
by Elizabeths parents, Paul
and Margaret Turner (pic-
tured), who stay regularly
at Caerfelin Caravan Park,
Aberporth.
Fundraiser for
cancer charity
AT THE end of May, Caer-
wedros Memorial Hall held
a pink-themed pamper party
to raise money for Breast
Cancer Care charity. The
hall was packed with stalls
offering a range of products.
A great evening was had
by all, and 250 was raised
towards the charity
