Similar to video games, in AlphaVision™ you move about a 3D space. You zoom, pan, and rotate around
any of the three axes.

AlphaVision™ then taps the ability of your mind’s eye to recognize data patterns, and makes it easy to
navigate to what stands out. Once there, you can access the wealth of data that powers the Landscape.

Intro to the AlphaVision™ Landscape

AlphaVision™ presents a 3-dimensional Landscape of investment securities shown


as towers or “buildings”. The appearance of the Landscape is determined by
Metric data.

Metrics in AlphaVision™ are measurable investment security attributes that can

Securities with positive values of the Height Metric are displayed above the
horizon, and those with negative values are displayed below.

Securities with positive values of the Color Metric are shown by default in shades
of green and those with negative values in shades of red.

Groups of securities are represented as “blocks” of buildings (you can group by


Industry, Sector, etc.).

Using the AlphaVision™ Landscape


You can easily navigate the Landscape using your mouse, keyboard and screen tools.

Find and Select Securities


Identify - Hover the mouse over a building, and the security’s ticker and
information appear in a screen tip.

Select – Left click on a building

Search - Locate a specific security or group (Industry, Sector, etc.) using the
Search box above the Landscape.

Move and View the Landscape


Rotate/Tilt – Left Mouse (click and drag) 360º in any direction.

Pan/Move – Middle Mouse (click and drag), or ALT+Left Mouse, or Left and Right
Mouse buttons simultaneously.

Zoom - Right Mouse (click and drag), or Middle Mouse wheel, or Zoom control at
the bottom right of the Landscape

Center – Shift + Left click on a building to center an area

Flip the Horizon up/down – Click on the Flip horizon button on the right side of
the Landscape

Height bar – Adjust the scale of the building heights using the slider bar at the
bottom left of the Landscape.

Transparency bar – Adjust transparency to see through to buildings on the other


side using the "Transp" slider bar above the Zoom control

Securities Information
HUD – The Heads-Up Display table at the top of the Landscape shows current
Metric assignments and market information for any selected security.

Price Chart - At the bottom right of the Landscape, the Price chart presents EOD
historical pricing for the selected security. Change the time period by clicking on
the choices at the bottom.

Add to Watch List – Highlight the desired Watch List, select the security, then
press the "W" button on your keyboard (or click and hold Right Mouse). You will be
prompted to create a new Watch List if one does not already exist.

Link to more info (i.e. Google Finance/Twitter/SEC Filings) - Select the security,
then click and hold Right Mouse and choose from the menu selections.

Change the Landscape


The AlphaVision™ Landscape is a Visual Opportunity Search platform. Changes
that you make to the Landscape during your work session can be saved as
Project (.aqp) files. You will be prompted to save your work as a project when
you close AlphaVision™.

More robust tools are accessible under Landscape Controls in the Landscape
Viewer. Here you can change Metric assignments, establish Metric Ranges,
define Groups and Filters, choose Sort options and manage News alerts.

Views and HyperSorts


View – the collection of Metric and Metric Range settings applied to the
Landscape.

HyperSorts - Group, Filter, and Group Sorting settings applied to the Landscape.

Explore AlphaVision’s library of Views and HyperSorts by clicking on “Change


View” or “Change HyperSort” above the Landscape. Here you can also save
customized Views and HyperSorts.

Metric and Metric Range

Customize the Color Bar


The Color Bar controls how numerical values from the Color Metric are
translated to building colors in the Landscape.

By default, the Color Bar is set to code positive values toward green and
negative values toward red.

To adjust color ranges, slide a thumb to a new position (or enter a value
directly by clicking on the number below the thumb).

Right click on any thumb to remove it or change color. Right click on the Color
Bar to add a new thumb or show the histogram.

Manage Watch Lists and Display Metric Values


The box below the Control Panel allows you to manage Watch Lists and choose The box below

View and Project Files


“You can open views in
AlphaVision™ by Using View Files (.aqv)
importing them through
the Landscape Wizard” The quickest way to get value from AlphaVision™ is to use views and projects
that have been created by other domain experts. Our View Library can be
accessed through the customer portal on the Aqumin Website
http://www.aqumin.com/CustomerServicePortal.html. Views can be created saved
and shared.

Loading a view: Download the view file to your desktop, or to a designated


folder.

Open AlphaVision™ and click on the Landscape Wizard and Import. Navigate to
and select the view file.

The View will load to My Quick Views. Select it and click on Show Me (bottom
right corner of the Landscape Wizard).

The view now appears on the landscape.

When you close AlphaVision™ you will be prompted to save your work into a
project file.

Using Project Files (.aqp)

Project files can contain Views, Hypersorts and Watch Lists. To open a project
file, simply click on File and Open Project.

Navigate to and select the project file. It will open into the AlphaVision™
landscape and the project name will appear on the title bar of the AlphaVision™
window.
