I did some research on-line and found where an event is posted for a gathering at Sylvester Park for a day of planning
for May-Day. I found 2 different dates, both Saturday March 30
th
and then Sunday March 31
st
. Both indicate 2pm as
the time and have the same advertising. This group held a similar event last year, food and free market and met at
Sylvester Park. They did not obtain a permit last year. I verified with Tony Aitken that they have not asked for one this
year either.

Last year we did not have a police presence in the park and simply drove by to monitor it. The thought was to not
provoke by our presence but monitor from a distance and be able to respond if needed. If my memory serves, it was a
small group and they did not cause us any issues. This year I think the same approach would be wise, as well as continue
monitoring what sort of activity happens near Seattle. That would give us a feel for the temperament of the group. As
May day approaches, we need to keep this group on our radar.

sponsored by the State Senate.]
