SYNOPSIS

ENTREPRENEURSHIP focuses the principles and concept of entrepreneurship. This
course concentrate on the systematic methods of getting business ideas. This course
also prepare the students on ways to conduct and control the business including
fundamental of management, marketing and financing. It also emphasize on the
preparation of business plan, thus developing their entrepreneurial skills.



LEARNING OUTCOMES


Upon completing this course, students should be able to:

1. explain clearly the concept of entrepreneurship, business ownership and
procedures in setting up a business in case study given
2. work cooperatively in group to complete an assign project based on entrepreneurial
skills
3. present creatively a business plan prepared via group based on business
knowledge

Definition of an entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, differences
between the concept of entrepreneur and businessman, the
competency of successful entrepreneurship. The roles and social
responsibilities of entrepreneur and define e-business.


2.0 ENTREPRENEURIAL IDEAS AND OPPORTUNITIES (04 : 02)
Sources of business ideas, process to generate business ideas,
evaluation, approaches in seeking the business ideas and guide in
choosing a business.


3.0 BUSINESS OWNERSHIP (04 : 02)
Factors that influence the business ownership, types of business
ownership, characteristics of each business ownership, advantages
and disadvantages, the differences in business ownership and the
procedure on the registration of business ownership.


4.0 BASIC OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (04 : 02)
The meaning, function of management and the organizational
structure.


5.0 OVERVIEW OF MARKETING
(02 : 01)
Definition and marketing mix. It also discus microenvironment and
macro environment of target market and market identification, e-
business.


6.0 BASIC OF ACCOUNTING (04 : 02)
Definition of accounting and important of financial management in
business planning and controlling. Defines asset, liabilities, owner
equity, expenses and revenue, identify the functions and elements of
financial statement.


7.0 ENTREPRENEURIAL SOURCE OF CAPITAL AND SUPPORT
SYSTEM

Source of capital for entrepreneurship activities and types of business
support.


8.0 BUSINESS PLAN (08 : 04)
Meaning of business plan, purpose and the important of business
plan, characteristic of a good business plan, business plan format and
minimum requirement by financial institutions and government
agencies.
