The Palais des Congrs has organised a world-class selection of concerts for 2014-2015. From family favourites to iconic operettas, theres an
evening of entertainment to suit all musical tastes in Paris this season.
The beautiful Palais des Congrs in the 17th arrondissement of Paris is both a convention centre and a shopping mall full of major American
brands, excellent for a spot of daytime shopping. However, its the buildings third function thats garnered the most praise - its also a stellar
musical attraction, playing concerts in their Grand Amphitheatre to up to 3,723 patrons, and in the more intimate Amphitheatre Bordeaux,
which seats a modest 650. Located just around the corner from Radisson Blu Le Dokhans Hotel, Paris Trocadero, the 2014-2015 season at
the Palais is packed with both celebrated shows and exciting new acts.
PIXAR EN CONCERT
On the 11th and 12th July 2014, selections
from thirteen Pixar masterpieces including
Up, Cars, Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Brave
will be played on the high defnition cinema
screen, accompanied live by the astonishing
Sinfonia Pop Orchestra. Expect an evening of
family-friendly entertainment and world-class
music, combining beloved flm clips and songs
in an uplifting sensory experience.
GLADIATOR
Catch this international blockbuster at the
Palais des Congrs, accompanied live by the
phenomenal LOrchestre National Dle de
France. Over 200 performance artists will
grace the stage to emphasise this dramatic
presentation of Ridley Scotts 2000 flm about
betrayal, honour and human strength.
BRIT FLOYD
Pink Floyds greatest tribute act, Brit Floyd, will
play at the Congrs on the 6th November
2014. An explosive evening not to be missed,
the act charts the whole recorded history
of this global sensation over a three-hour
chronological concert. Coming to Paris as
part of a global tour, Brit Floyd are sure
to dazzle you with their nigh-on perfect
impersonations and unbeatable musicality.
BOLLYWOOD EXPRESS
Billed as a true love story, Bollywood
Express comes to Paris on the 27th
November for three days. Filled with comedy,
music, and dance, prepare yourself for a
spectacular performance that centres around
Varsha, a journalist who is swept up in the
frenetic whirlwind of Mumbai. Watch as
she sings and dances her way through the
magical city and get swept along by the catchy
melodies and powerful and haunting ballads.
MALKAH: DAVID ET LE TEMPS DES
PROPHTES
This spectacle follows the Biblical story of
David, who was born a shepherd but became
King of Israel. With a soundtrack played by the
Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Prague,
over an hour of music accompanies more
than 70 actors onstage, bringing the ancient
tale to dramatic life and spreading a message
of healing and forgiveness.
LE CHANTEUR DE MEXICO
Arriving at the Palais early next year,
Francis Lopezs operetta was made into
a popular flm by Richard Pottier in 1957.
This production will be headlined by the
charismatic tenor Mathieu Sempr, who
takes the lead role of Vincent Etchebar, an
aspiring singer who fnds himself unexpectedly
thrust into the limelight. Featuring the
celebrated song Mexico, made famous by
Luis Mariano, this is musical theatre at its
slightly barmy best.
