Origami Paper (or other paper cut to about 6 by 6)
Plastic Straw (or paper rolled into straw)
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (or other fast drying glue)
Plastic Ruler or bone knife (to assure sharp crease)

How to Make an Origami Flower
What will we do today?
1. Place the square, design side
down, in front of you on a flat
surface. It should resemble a
diamond (not a box).
2. Fold the bottom edge to meet
the top edge exactly and crease
well
3. Fold the right corner to meet
the top corner and crease well.
4. Fold the left corner to meet the
top corner and crease well.
5. Open the flaps.
6. Fold the right side to just meet
the scored line on the right and
crease well.
7. Using the fold as a guide, fold
over once again and crease.

9. Find the little flaps that extend
beyond the triangle. Fold these
down to meet the fold and crease
well.
8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 on the left
side.

10. Open the model so that you are
viewing the original diamond.
11. Using the creases as a guide, fold
the right and left flaps over and
crease.
12. Using the previously creased
guides, refold the paper to the
small diamond from Step #9

15. The inside of the petal will look
like this. Run your finger on the
inside of the petal to puff it out a
little bit and flatten any paper
that may be sticking out.
13. Put a strip of glue on one edge of
the flower petal.

14. Pinch the edges together without
creasing the back of the petal.
16. Make 5 or 6 petals and then put a
strip of glue on the stem for the
first petal.
17. Glue the straight edge of the petal
to the stem with the pointed part
of the petal facing down.
18. Glue the remaining petals on to
the stem.
