The Mind and Right Thinking

In different respects, weaker things need to be cared for more diligently. The mind is a weaker area for
man. Scripture helps us to fortify this vulnerable area with knowledge. Need to be instructed.
A song with the words: “He’s opened mine eyes…”* That’s what we want—having our eyes opened
[dealing with reality, having sound thoughts]. The importance of having our thoughts right, because our
thoughs affect our attitude.

Acts 26:2 “I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee
touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:”
Many grievous things had happened to Paul, but he was still able to be in this mindset. We shouldn’t let
trials cloud reality—there’s much to be happy about.
Despite his situation, he considered himself happy. [He had a lot of good things to think about—a great
hope. Happiness in the time of tribulation. There are many who are not even in prison who are not
happy…Their thoughts are depressing.]

Hebrews 12:3 “For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be
wearied and faint in your minds.”
Like Paul—compassed about. Adversary accuser/these souls had something that anchored them to
happiness. Mind is a fatal place to be faint in.

2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath,
[and] not according to that he hath not.”
Fainting—we will encounter hardships, adversity—need to seek Eyl’s strength so as not to faint. Be
strong, settle it in your mind. Eyl sees our willingness to attain perfection. Seed of faith that will not be
removed.

2 Corinthians 10:4 “(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against
the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
Reason for this happening—didn’t embrace love for truth/their minds shut off to the truth. (Not the right
verse for this note)

Hebrews 10:16 “This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will
put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;”
Glorious prophecy—we know not how—believe Eyl’s Word—He does this operation—He will perform
this blessing upon us—change the nature of our thinking—hope until this happens

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth
in thee.”
It seems if we trust Him our minds will remain on Him and His Word. Reading and meditating on Word
can help keep our minds right.

Colossians 2:18 “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of
angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,”
Men do get lifted up in their thinking—seeds of pride can be sown, vain thoughts. The mind loves to find
ways to praise itself. Not to think more highly, but soberly.

Psalm 73:8-17 “They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily. They set
their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. Therefore his people return
hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them. And they say, How doth God know? and is there
knowledge in the most High? Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in]
riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long
have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend
[against] the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me; Until I
went into the sanctuary of God; [then] understood I their end.”
Rich of this world/soul endured grief of mind. Needful to look to the end of the matter—can be weariness
to think of this life only. To have our mind on spiritual, not here & now (temporal pleasures, vanity) Hope
which is to come

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is]
not with thee.”
Maintain right thinking, not let it slip/as we think, so are we

1 John 2:3 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
If we think ourselves pure, we become pure. If we think, doubt, or despair,
Need to think thoughts of hope & encouragement. Souls not enduring by doubting, discouragement.
If we think faith, so are we—A perfected life is end of matter—think of ourselves as being (hope it) perfect
man in this war (way? World?)

Psalms 10:4 “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek [after God]: God [is] not in
all his thoughts.”
In none of his thoughts is Elohiym, because of pride.

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound
mind.”
Soundness of mind is a result of Eyl’s spirit. Even pride is unsoundness. Sin is insane—eternal destruction
of matter. Only Eyl’s spirit can bring soundness—press in to believe He can fill us. All these words
comely together

Titus 2:6 ‘Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.”

In youth (foolishness), press in to lay hold on this—be trained up. No need to be sober—not think of
ourselves as some great ones or special—no diffe
(???)

1 Peter 1:13 “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is
to be brought unto you at the revelation of Yeshua ha Mashiyach;”
In old days, would gird up skirts so they could freely run. Elohiym is to give us this grace—to stand in
presence of His glory.
