Complete rules for PHS HS Invitational # 3

1 Tournament management
1.1 Admin ruling
A tournament admin can at any time overrule a previous result due to various reasons,
for example abusing un-intentional game mechanics and other forms of cheating. The
tournament admins may overrule other rules, for example to remove victories as a penalty
for cheating.
2 Basic concepts
2.1 Game and game victory
A game is dened as one game of Hearthstone. A game is over when the game reaches
the post game screen, and the winner of the game is the player for who the game shows
Victory.
2.2 Match and match victory
A match is dened as a set of games, and is usually played in a best-of-one, best-of-three,
or best-of-ve format. A match is won when either player has achieved an insurmountable
lead. The winner of the match is the player who achieves the necessary amount of wins.
2.3 Other concepts
Other concepts including but not limited to deck, player and card are used in the same
way as in usual Hearthstone play.
3 Tournament rules
3.1 Server
The tournament will be played on the Europe server on Battle.net.
3.2 Player eligibility
The tournament is open to players who have received an invite. One player may only
participate with one account.

3.3 Decks
A player may use two or three pre-prepared decks during the tournament. Side-decking is
not allowed - the decks may not be changed during the tournament. All decks used by a
player must be of dierent classes. Classes must be registered using the class registration
form
3.4 Card limits
All cards in the game owned by the players are allowed to be played in the tournament,
according to the standard rules for constructed decks.
3.5 Tournament format
The tournament will be played in a swiss format, using Challonge. More information
can be found at http://challonge.blogspot.se/2013/01/swiss-tournaments.html.
3.6 Match format
Matches are played in a best-of-three format, i.e. rst to two game wins. The player
winning a game must play the following game using the same deck, and the losing player
may not use the losing deck again during the same match.
3.7 Grand nals
The two highest ranked players after the swiss rounds have nished will play in a best-
of-ve grand nals. Decks may be re-used during the grand nals, and the loser of a
game may choose to not change his or her deck. A player may decline to play in the
grand nals, in which case the next highest player on the swiss ranking will take his or
her place.
4 Reporting to admin
4.1 Evidence
Screenshots of the game can be used as evidence in case of conicting reports on results
and similar. The screenshot must show the in-game clock and be entirely un-tampered
with.
4.2 Match result
The winning player is responsible for reporting results to a tournament admin. If no
player claims the victory, of if the winner can not provide sucient evidence on demand
from tournament agmin, the game will be ruled as a tie with score 1-1.

4.3 No-show
A no-show must be reported to a tournament admin. The result of a no-show is a loss
with score 0-1.
4.4 Disconnection
In case of a player disconnecting during a match, the game will be restarted with the
same decks if one of the following criteria are met. Only games may be replayed, and a
tournament admin may change the number of games in the match if necessary.
4.4.1 Player agreement
Both players agree on replaying.
4.4.2 Lacking evidence
The player who did not disconnect is unable to provide evidence to a tournament admin
that he or she had the advantage at the point of the disconnect.
4.4.3 Admin ruling
Tournament admin rules that the game is to be replayed.
4.5 Cheating
All forms of cheating is unallowed and will result in disqualication from the tournament.
5 Fair play
All players are asked to behave in a humane way towards other competitors, and to any
member of the administration team; treat others as you would like to be treated! If a
player is found guilty of misconduct by a tournament admin, the player may receive a
warning, be rules to lose a game or match, or be disqualied from the tournament.
