The Director, Central Institute of fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai-61, invites sealed
tenders from parties having their own Dry Dock or having valid license to undertake Dry
Dock in MbPT Mumbai for the repairs and Dry docking Works in respect of under water
Hull, Free Board portion, Deck & engine works, Generators, GMDSS, LSA, & FFA &
obtain, MMD Certificates.

1. High pressure jet washing, Scrapping, Copper slag blasting and painting to
be carried out up to DLL. (Area 450 sq. mtrs.) including thruster tunnel
02 nos., Thruster tunnel guards 04 nos., sea chest port and Stbd, Rudder,
Kortz nozzle etc.

2. Copper slag blasting and painting to be done from DLL to raised forecastle
deck. Area (100 sq. mtrs.)

3. Ultra sonic gauging for the steel plate of hull, shell boot top area, raised up
to bulwark top, side thrusters tunnels, rudder, kortz nozzle, sea chest, upper
chest, upper deck & main deck etc. to be carried out. Minimum 02 reading
per sq. mtrs. Single bottom area ultra sonic gauging thickness to be cross
checked by hand drilling if required. (A.P.I.S.S.)

4. Painting of draft marking and name on forward and Aft Stbd & port to be
carried out.

5. Removal of old zinc anodes with base and fitting new zinc anode in its
place as per sample. Approx. weight of one zinc anodes is 10 kg
approximate quantity required 35 Nos.

6. Existing Garmin echo sounders transducer to be fitted with its
arrangement and cable to be routed in place of old transducer and cable
(which is to be removed) and supply to be given to made operational.
Note: Transducer and cable will be supply by ships.

7. Hondex echo sounder, transducer and its cable (which is not working
presently) to be removed from its place, a suitable dual type (200 & 50
KHz.) FURNO or equivalent makers Echo Sounder (specification attached)
including transducer and cable to be procured, installed and cable to be
routed in the old place, supply and necessary connection to be given to
made operational.

8. Both anchor chain shackles, stock and fluke pin to be serviced and refitted.
9. 02 Nos. tested (M.M.D. approved) KENTER Swivel attachment (24 mm)
to be procured, fitted to the both anchor chain for better movement /
operation of anchor chain and anchor wire. Both the anchor chain and
anchor to be tested and calibrated and 4 Nos. of tested connecting shackle
to be procured.

10. Gas free certificate for man entry / hot work in / oil tanks to be obtained by
Firms /Workshops /Companys from Competent Authority.

Note : Painting to be done as per schedule by good quality paints like Jotun
/ International / Sigma / Shalimar which will be supplied by contractor with
their own cost.
Note : Renewal steel plate should be quality grade A with ISO / Lloyds
certified and stamped as per the MMD recommendation.
Note : The Job No. 06, 07 and 09 to be done only in the dry dock
therefore necessary action to be taken well before to complete the job in
dry dock.

inspection to be carried out by Cummins service engineer, necessary
repairs/over hauling to be carried out as per their recommendation.
Both the engines has run for more then 25,000 hrs. and need major over
hauling. (Last overhauling carried out in May, 2006) Including all spare
parts original from Cummins India only

4. Auxiliary engine No.III:
Major overhauling of auxiliary engine No. III caterpillar D 3304 in line
4 cylinder. 4 stroke, 75 BHP, Bore 120.7mm, stroke 152.4 mm.
(Engine with out turbo charger and Air starting motor) In
cluding all spare parts original caterpillar only.
Engine has run for more then 25,000 hrs. and need major over hauling.
(last overhauling carried out in June 2006)

5. GENERTATOR I & II: STAMFORD BRUSHLESS: 125 KVA, 174
Amps, 1500 RPM 50H2

a. Both the generators I & II to be overhaul (periodical) Rotor to be taken
out, Rotor and starter to be cleaned varnished backed and refitted back
with new bearings if found worn out, All control wires & AVR to be
checked, Set right and secured. Surge suppressor connection to be
checked cleaned and secured properly.

b. Reverse current protection system to be checked and set right. MCB to
be checked for over load trip off, subsequent satisfactory trial to be
carried out at full load in stable condition. Over load protection to be
set right. Trial to be taken for full load without any vibration and full
satisfactory operation.

6. ELGI Air compressor:
Model No.05 300 (two stage) driven by 5 Hp Motor. To be completely
over hauled and worn out parts to be replaced by new. ( original from
authorized dealer only).
Above compressor fitted on engine room tank top to be dismantled and
moving parts to be inspected for ware & tear, after proper cleaning,
worn out parts to be replaced by new. The compressor to be
reassembled and aligned with motor for smooth and proper out put.
Auto cut out and safety system to be set right after inspection if found
unsatisfactorily, to be replaced by new.

7. Standby sea water cooling pump of Main Engine:
Standby sea water cooling pump of M-Engine centrifugal type B.E.
make driven by 5 HP motor fitted near engine room tank top to be
removed after opening foundation bolts, and suction discharge flanges
of the pump. The pump to be completely over hauled. Worn out parts
like bearings, shaft, seal etc. if found to be replaced new. The pump to
be reassembled and properly aligned with motor for smooth operation
and proper output (3 kg. pressure).

8. Fire Pump:
a. Vessel main fire pump B.E. Indian make vertical type of 30m3
Capacity per hour at a pressure of 8.5 kg. driven by 25 HP motor at
2500 rpm. (Gun metal body) approved by MMD, fitted on engine room
tank top to be completely over hauled and worn out parts like bearings,
shaft, bushes, seal etc. if any to be replaced with new. Pump to be
reassembled and fitted back on its foundation and aligned properly
with existing motor for smooth operation and proper out put.

b. Fire line Relief valve : 100 mm spring loaded type valve to be opened
cleaned and parts inspected for wear and tear. Worn out parts to
replace by new. Valve reassembled back and tested. Pressure test to be
set to lift at 7.0 kg cm2.

9. Bilge Pump:
Bilge pump, centrifugal self priming type with cast iron body and
working parts S.S. / bronze Horizontal type fitted near engine room
tank top under floor plate, driven by 10 HP motor to be removed and
completely over hauled. Worn out parts like bearings, shaft, bushes etc.
if any to be replaced with new. Pump to be assembled and put back in
place and aligned properly with existing motor for smooth operation.

10. STEERING GEAR: TENFJORD TYPE H 330 155 ESF 430
a. Steering Gear pump oil seal leaking its accessories to be overhauled,
worn out and damaged parts to be replaced and system to be set right.

b. Auto pilot Steering System defects to be rectified by setting right the
Electronic defects from the system. The error in Aft steering indicator
10_o difference from main indicator to be rectified and put back in
order. Rudder turning angle to be calibrated along with wheel house
rudder indicator. Hard port Mid ship Hard star board. (Job to be
carried out after confirming the availability of spare parts).

11. Load test of Deck Machineries:
The following Deck Machinery / equipments to be load tested for safe
working load as per its designed load test capacity and necessary safe
load working test certificate from MMD / IRS approved authority to be
issued / obtained as per existing condition

i. Deck loader 3 Tones
ii. Derrick Swinger 3 Tones
iii. Port and Stbd Trawl winches 9 Tones each
iv. Anchor winch 5 Tones
v. Net winch 5 Tones
vi. Gillson winch Port / Stbd 5 Tones each
vii. Capstain 1 Tones
12. Low Pressure Hydraulic System:
ASTM A 53 scheduled 80 pipes 140 mm O.D. of low pressure
Hydraulic system is partly corroded in clamp fastening (Holding) area.
Same to be opened and defective portion aprox. 300 mm in length at
defective points to be replaced with new of above mentioned quality.
The pipes to be tested at 60 kg. working pressure, properly cleaned
from inside as per Hydraulic system instruction and fitted in place with
new joints with proper clamping. Aprox. 15 such points.

13. Bilge System:
1 No. caste iron bilge chest fitted in engine room tank top with 5 Nos.
65mm valves (Globe type) with working parts of gunmetal has to be
completely overhauled. Bonnet cover with valve to be opened for
inspection. All parts to be completely dismantled and chest thoroughly
cleaned. Lid ground to respective seats. If found satisfactory chest body
to be painted with apaxior paint from internally. All parts to be
assembled and fitted in places with new joints. Defective bolts, nuts and
studs if any to be replaced with new. Glands to be fresh packed with
necessary repairs/ adjustments if any.

14. The following bilge pipeline of 3" dia. Along with mud box and
strainers to be pressure tested, has in its place at a pressure of about. 2
to 3 kg. with Hydraulic pressure testing pump. From bilge chest from
Engine room to bilge suction strainer last end by blocking the pipe line
with necessary end fittings etc. at necessary points. Pressure should
hold for carrying inspection on pipe line for leakage etc.

i. Engine Room bilge chest to Sonar Room bilge well about 15
mtrs. In length.

ii. Engine room bilge chest to accommodation bilge well about
10 mtrs. In length.

iii. Engine room bilge chest to Fish hold bilge well about 5 mtrs. In length.
iv. Engine room bilge pump to engine room forward bilge well
through chest about 5 mtrs. In length.

v. Engine room bilge chest to Net store about 15 mtrs. in length.
vi. Engine room bilge pump to Engine room Aft bilge well about
10 mtrs. In length.

vii. Emergency bilge suction direct line from machinery space bilge well
Aft to emergency fire and B.B. pump about 10 mtrs. in length.

15. 2 nos. M.S. Hydrophore tanks of about 24 dia 5 Hight of 300 liters capacity
each with 3 mounting legs. Tanks to be removed from its foundation after
disconnecting inlet & outlet pipe lines the bottom base plate of the sea water
hydrophore tank is corroded & temporarily repaired by cementing. The tank to
be replaced by new as per sample. Fresh water hydrophore tank to be pressure
tested at 7 kg. if found defective the damage plate / portion to be repaired or
replaced by new. The foundation base plate of size 19 x 45 x 10 mm of both
the tanks is corroded to be replaced by new as per sample. Ship side plate in
way of hydrophore tank if found weak after ultra sonic reading same to be
replaced under plate renovation job. Both the tanks to be refitted in place after
above plate renovation work & reconnected in the system as in the earlier
stage.

16. INTERMEDIATE VALVES:
The following valves of cast iron body with moving parts of gunmetal
fitted in Engine room open space and under floor plates to be overhauled
completely while the vessel is alongside \ Dry dock bonnet covers of all
the valves to be opened for inspection. All parts to be completely
dismantled, chest thoroughly cleaned, and Lid ground to respective seats.
All valves should be shown to ship staff. If found satisfactory valves body
to be painted with epoxy paint from internally. All parts to be assembled
and fitted in place with new joints. Defective bolts, nuts and studs, etc. to
be replaced and glands to be fresh packed with necessary repairs /
adjustments if any.

18. Fore peak freshwater tank supply line 2 size stop valve Globe type,

be overhauled completely. Bonnet cover of the valve to be opened for
inspection. Parts to be dismantled and chest thoroughly cleaned. Lid
ground and defective nut and studs etc. to be replaced and gland fresh
pack.

19. Sea Valve:
The following valves of gunmetal body under floor plates in congested
places to be over hauled completely during dry docking. Bonnet covers
of all valves to opened up for inspection. All parts to completely
dismantled. Chest thoroughly cleaned, lide ground to respective seats.
All valves should shown to ship staff, MMD/IRS ship surveyors. If
found satisfactory. All the valves body to be painted with epoxy paint
from internally. All parts to be assembled and fitted in place with new
joints, defective bolts, nuts and studs to be replaced and glands to be
fresh packed.

a. 150mm 4 nos.

20. Over board discharge valves:
The following gunmetal valves fitted in engine room open space to be
overhauled completely. Bonnet covers of all valves to be opened for
inspection and all parts completely dismantled. Chest thoroughly
cleaned. Lid ground to respective seats. All valves should be shown to
ship staff, MMD/IRS surveyors. If found satisfactory all the valves
body to be assembled and fitted in places with new joints, defective
bolts, nuts and studs etc. to be replaced and glands to be fresh packed.

21. Storm Valve:
The following gunmetal body storm Valves fitted under
accommodation paneling and Engine room open space to be over
hauled completely during dry docking. The opening and refitting of
paneling will be covered under separate job order (The opening and
refitting of existing paneling in the way of work). Bonnet covers of all
valves to be opened for inspection. All the parts to be completely
dismantled and chest thoroughly cleaned. Replace the leather flap and
refit the same with new joint. All valve should be shown to ship staff,
MMD/IRS Surveyors. If found satisfactory valve body to be painted
with apaxior paint from internally. All the parts to be assembled and

fitted in place with new joints. Defective bolts, nuts and studs etc. to be
replaced and glands to be fresh packed. The remote control leaver of
the valve to be put back in its original position for smooth operation.
a. 100 mm (2nos. under paneling) 3nos.
b. 50 mm (2nos. under paneling) 3nos.
22. 4 nos. sea grids of S.S. 10mm plate, size 24 x 12 each fitted with 18
nos. S.S. screw of 1 length x dia. To be removed for cleaning. After
cleaning and painting same to be fitted back in its original place, with
existing screws. After completing job related with sea chest, under
separate job order if any.

23. Side thruster:
4 nos. side thruster tunnel guards two at bow and two at stern (STBD
PORT) each of approx size 5 x 2 made from M.S. 1 Round bar and 2
flat bar (Grill type) each having weight of about 25 kg. welded at about
10 points to the tunnel, to be removed by gas cutting. After completing
the job related with side thruster tunnel placed under separate job order.
The existing tunnel guards to be rewelded to its original place.

24. Tank plug:
Opening of S.S. plug of 2 dia. from bottom tanks/bilge wells and
refitting the same with necessary water tight joints/tafflon tape etc. and
welding / locking flat bar 3 x 1 x 6 mm on same after completing the
relevant job if any placed under separate job order. (Approx.26 plugs to
be opened).

25. Rudder:
Before unshipping the rudder, 2 nos. plugs of 2 size. One from bottom
and one from top to be opened. Sediments if any to be drained. Rudder
bush and pintle wear down clearance reading to be measured. For
comparing same with last dry docking readings. For i) Pintle Dia- ii)
Pintle bush Dia- iii) Clearance iv) Jumping clearance and v) Brace
clearance.

If clearance of wear down found beyond permissible limits necessary
repairs to the pintle and bush to be carried out to the full satisfaction of
ship staff and MMD/IRS Ship Surveyors.

12 nos. Nut bolts 6 x 1 size, 6 nos. from top palm and 6 nos. from
bottom pintle to be opened after removing related fittings etc. the
rudder to be unshiped from its position with necessary stegging and
rigging (the height of rudder top palm bolts from dry dock flooring
about 3 mtrs.) After completion of works on propeller kort nozzle and
tail shaft placed under separate job order. Rudder has to be fitted back
in its original position. Both top palm and bottom pintle bolts to be
fitted and tighten. Jumping and brase clearance to be checked once
again. Finally rudder to be flushed with fish oil by giving a float coat
internally. Top and bottom plugs to be refitted and made water tight,
finally after completing all the work top palm bolts and bottom pintle
bolts to be locked and cemented.


26. Rudder stock:
To be inspected and as in its place for oil leakage or damage of oil seal
and for abnormal wear down clearance. Repairs if any to be carried out.

27. Kurtz Nozzle:
(Assuming stegging already in place ) 4 nos. 1 size S.S. plugs two
from top and two from bottom to be opened and sediments if any to be
drained. Both compartments of kurtz nozzle to be flushed with fish oil
by giving float coat internally. Both the top and bottom plugs to be
tightened properly and made water tight with joints/tefflon tape etc. and
cemented. After inspection and ultra sonic gauging if kurtz nozzle
plates reading found beyond permissible limits the plate inserting work
will be completed first under separate job order before flusing kurtz
nozzle with fish oil by floating coat.

28. Propeller Shaft:
Make Pay & Brinck k 500 a/s OSLO.
Propeller (C.P.P. Type) Dia: 5.5 (approx)
Propeller Shaft Dia. 170 mm
Propeller / shaft length: 18 approx. (Direct shaft drive, no intermediate
shaft)
Propeller, Propeller shaft with stern tube k 500 Type 170 mm dia.
Drawings enclosed.

It is observed during the Vessel operation that the Water/Grease mixed
coming out from the shaft drive coupling, indicating that O ring
fitment is not correct, O ring are below standard. Water intake to the
push pull rod may make corrosion in the push pull Rod and damage the
push pull Rod action.

Propeller shaft in board end, attached to coupling. The push pull Rod
seal Retainer collar on the shaft end is corroded and temp repaired by
cold weld (patch work). Same to be filled by matel welding or any
other similar process of matel filling, shaft machined for oil seal slot as
well as retainer collar. Push pull shaft inboard movement on propeller
shaft end made water tite for smooth movement.

a. Assuming rudder already unshiped from its position and stegging and
regging in place. Propeller rope guard to be removed after opening S.S.
Lock bolts. After removing rope guard the area to be thoroughly
cleaned. Outer seal from stern tube and rotating portion of seal from
propeller hub to be disconnected. Gear box drive coupling nut bolts to
be removed. Allen bolts on both coupling halves on propeller shaft
have to be disconnected and both coupling halves have to removed
from shaft. Servo motor shaft coupling Allen bolts to be open and both
coupling halves to be removed out. Inner seal compression coller to be
disconnected. Inner shaft end to be cleaned and polished. Stern tube
inner seal to be disconnected from stern tube and should properly
protected. Necessary gears to be rigged and tail shaft along with

propeller hub and bledes to be pulled out from stern tube with proper
care to protect both inner and outer seals and bushes from damage.
Propeller shaft should lowered on dry dock floor.
Propeller blades and hub to be polished. Propeller shaft and stern tube
along with all other parts to be cleaned for Inspection. Servo motor
shaft to be checked for smooth operation. Stern tube inner and outer
seal assembly to be cleaned and inspected for its proper contact surface.

The propeller shaft and stern tube inner and outer bushes to be gauged
as follows and compared with last dry dock readings for wear down
clearance.

After cleaning and polishing all the parts place the outer seal assembly
on to propeller shaft after inserting carefully propeller shaft into stern
tube, replace the inner stern tube seal assembly on to propeller shaft
from engine room. Refit the seal mounting bolts on stern tube from
both inside and outside and to be locked by wire lashing.

Refitting back the servo motor shaft coupling and propeller shaft
coupling halves and tighten the bolts to its proper torque, gear box
coupling and propeller coupling. Nut and bolts to be placed in position
and tightened to its torque. After filling the oil in to stern tube, both the
stern tube seals to be checked for leakage, test. To the satisfaction of
ship staff. Finally propeller shaft rope guard to be fitted back in place
and bolts to be lashed.

b. Stern tube bushes : If bushes clearance found excessive bushed to be
extracted out, and replace by new (ex ship supply) Bush length 64 cm,
Bush Internal Dia: 170.45 mm.

c. If required Aft portion of propeller hub locking Bolts to be
removed. Propeller hub and 3 nos. blades to be dismantled and removed
from cross head.
Servo motor shaft to be pulled out from the propeller shaft for
inspection. All the internal parts to be cleaned and polished for
inspection of M.M.D. / IRS Ship Surveyors.
After inspection if any repairs etc. required to the unit to be
carried out as per instructions given by the surveyors. Refit the servo
motor shaft in propeller shaft with new seals and O rings. All 3 nos.
propeller blades and propeller to be reassembled with suitable grease
filled inside the hub cavity. Aft hub retaining bolts grub screw to be
tightened and locked. Finally grub screw pockets to be sealed with M-
Seal.

d. Propeller pitch to be calibrated at propeller hub mark 0 to
gear box 0 and wheel house pitch indicator lever 0 mark. Both
forward and aft remote console.

29. In case of a,b,c & d jobs are deleted from job No. 29, after
surveyors inspection and instruction. Grease plug on propeller hub to be
opened. Suitable fitting for greasing on propeller hub to be fitted for
pumping fresh grease in to the cavetti of propeller shaft bore for push
pull rod.

Peopeller shaft coupling flange from inboard to be Opened
Coupling halves removed from place. Fresh grease to be charge in from
propeller hub end fitting, till all the old grease form the propeller shaft
cavetti is drawn out, through the opening on propeller shaft inboard
end. After ensuring the grease is properly filled in plugs are refitted
back. Push pull rod coupling is opened and the clearance between gear
box end push pull rod and propeller shaft push pull end to be set at 5
mm., 0 mark on propeller hub and gear box 0 pointer (Neutral) The
piston rod and push pull rod are connected by the rod coupling ensuring

distance between rod ends shall be 5 mm. and finally propeller shaft
two coupling half put back and all bolts etc. tighten to its torque as per
instruction manual.
30. Side Thruster Propeller:
2 Nos., three bladed bronze propeller of approx. 24 dia. To be cleaned and
polished by power brush. Fish oil to be applied to both the side thruster
propeller units after inspection (APISS).

Bow and stern thruster noisy operation and vibration: Both the units to
be dismantled and all internal parts of Hyd Motor and pump to be
inspected for wear & tear etc. If found worn out to be replaced by new.
Manipulating unit from bridge is leaking and some time male functioning,
same to be overhauled and set right. High pressure pipe from the system
from pump to the thruster motor on tunnel including regulating panel in
Engine room to be pressure tested at 300 kg. The defective O rings joints
gauges and filters etc. to be replaced by new. The pipes to be properly
secured by proper clamping at a distance of 1 mtrs. length and made
vibration proof. The system to be made smooth and effective (Produce
intending result). (Job to be carried out after confirming the availability of
spare parts).

31. Tank cleaning in dry dock:
a. To open man hole covers of tanks for man entry to attend relevant job with
various tanks and to refit the man hole cover with existing packing and nut
and washers after completing jobs (about 25 covers to be opened)

b. Cleaning of fuel, Lub oil & Fresh water tanks in dry dock:
Assuming man hole covers are already opened under separate job order for
opening and refitting man hole covers. The following tanks of fuel / lub oil
to be cleaned after removing the sediments if any with necessary cleaning
material etc. and pressure tested in dry dock.

c. After proper ventilation by exhaust fan for removal of gas
from oil tanks. To make the tanks, gas free for hot work/man entry and
arranging gas free certificate from competent authority for the man entry
to attend the hot work in oil tanks.

d. Scraping cleaning and applying two coates of cement wash /
Chemical coating / Special paint etc. to be carried out in three nos. of
fresh water tank total capacity 41 m3.

32. Cleaning of bilge well in dry dock:
The following bilge wells if sediments any to be removed completely
chipped, scrubbed, wire brushed, cleaned and area to be prepared for
painting. Two coats of primer and one coat of Bitaminux/or other paints
to be given to complete area in a interval of 8 hours each. To full
satisfaction of vessel staff. In case of plate inserting work in bilge wells
if any. Painting will have to be carried out after plate inserting work.

34. Existing fuel sounding of tank No. 3 port / star board, No. 5 port / star
board and No. 6 port / star board is not functioning, if possible suitable
arrangements to be made (Manual type or Deep sounding tape type) for
above mentioned tanks.

35. Shore supply:
Shore supply to be provided during the dry docking period with proper
earthing 440 volts 50 Hz 3 phase 65 to 80 amps. Along with suitable cable
for temp. use only. (Beam of the vessel 8 mtrs.). Rates may be quotated
including cable charges, supply of generator if required and hiring
manpower for supervising electric supply as per the Mumbai Port Trust
guidelines.

36. Following elect. Starter and motor to be Meager tested. Star/Delta starter
contactor of the system to be overhauled/serviced contactor contacts and
coil to be cleaned and checked for proper functioning if parts are worn out
or damaged to be replaced by new.

42. 440 x 3 ph to 110 x 3 ph AC 30 KV capacity step down transformer for
Air condition supply to be installed in blower room along with separate
panel board. Existing 20 KV Transformer from battery room to be
shifted to blower room and both the transformers to be connected to the
distribution panel for 14 nos. air condition units. As per drawing from
ship staff with separate panel along with name plate and breaker for
each A.C.

43. Battery Charger: Automatic float boost battery charger I/P

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The Workshop / Firm / Company should have the approval of D G Shipping / MMD and
valid license to undertake the works in the Wet dock of Mumbai Port Trust and P & V
Channel
2. All the jobs in this tender will be considered as a single unit for comparative purpose
and as such total amount will be compared for competitive rates.
3. MbPT dry dock booked for 10 days. The entire dry docking work must be completed
within the allotted period, failing which Contractor/Firm/Workshop will be held
responsible for any penalty charges by MbPT and debited to your account. Any
Workshop / Firm / Company have their own Dry dock / Floating dock in Mumbai may
quote their rates for providing dry dock and related services required to vessel. (Vessel
NRT is 151.95 tons)
4. All the customs & Mb P T clearances formalities for carrying out the work in the MbPT
dry dock are to be arranged by the respective parties.
5. Dry docking survey will be done by the MMD and the works will have to be attended as
per the recommendations of the MMD surveyor
6. The rate should be inclusive of staging, un staging etc. wherever it require depends on
the work.
7. The respective party should ensure that no pollutants should be discharged in wet dock
/ wet dock and if any penalty arises in this regard will be the liability of the party.
8. It is the sole responsibility of the party to complete all the woks without effecting the
undocking of the vessel as per the schedule.
9. As far as possible the term Actual plus / sub contract etc. to be avoided. The correct /
actual amount should be quoted for all works.
10. The successful Firm/Workshop should obtain the MMD certificate wherever applicable.
11. While quoting the rates, the scrap value of the unserviceable material is to be taken into
consideration and the scrap will be allowed to be taken by the respective party and it is
their responsibility to remove the scrap from MbPT area onboard the vessel.
12. The respective workshop should have valid certified welders by the classification
societies to carry out the welding works. All welding joints should be in MMD/Class
standard. Test certificate from IRS / Lloyds for vessel steel plates to be procured before
using the same onboard the vessel.
13. No welding facility or Power supply will be available from the vessel. As such the firm /
workshop have to arrange the same at their own cost.
14. No tools will be provided from the vessel to the party for carrying out the repair works
onboard the vessel
15. No extra charges will be entertaining towards the cost of special tools, transportation,
overtime, anchorage charges etc.
16. Rates should be inclusive with all current applicable taxes.
17. One year guarantee should be ensured for material and workmanship
18. For Wet dock / anchorage jobs parties are requested to quote the rates for the works
alongside the berth & at the anchorage separately. Party has to arrange for the
transportation from shore to anchorage including men and material and other levies like
customs / BPT / Police clearance etc.
19. The party who has been assigned the job will have to ensure safety of the vessel.
20. Any damage done to the existing instrument / vessel items while doing the job has to be
restored to the original condition by the firm / contractor else his EMD will be forfeited.
21. After completion of the work, successful running trial of the vessel has to be conducted.
The warranty should be valid for a specified period from the date of sea / fishing trial
and not after completion of work.
22. All the electrical / Mechanical or plumbing must be ISO / ISI approved quality only.
23. Quotation must be addressed to The Director, Central Institute of Fisheries Education
(Deemed University, ICAR), Panch Marg, Opposite Panchavati Building, Off Yari Road,
Versova, Andheri (W), Mumbai 400 061.
24. Sealed quotation must be submitted either by Registered / Speed post or may be
dropped in tender box of office or VM section of CIFE. Sealed envelope should be high
lighted with Quotation for Dry-docking repairs of MFV Saraswati.
25. The Firm / Company will be fully responsible for providing medical facilities to their
workers in case of any accident etc. Matters related to labour welfare problems arises
out of labour laws should be dealt by the firm / company / workshops only. CIFE,
Mumbai shall not be responsible in any way in such matters.
26. Tenders should be accompanied by EMD of 2.5% of the tendered amount in form of DD
/ PO / Bank Guarantee favour of ICAR Unit, CIFE, Mumbai. No tenders will be accepted
without EMD.
27. The successful bidder has to deposit 10% of total cost as security deposit in form of DD /
PO in favour of ICAR Unit, CIFE, Mumbai, before commencing the work which will be
released after successful completion of guaranty period.
In the event of the work not being successfully completed by the successful
bidder, CIFE shall have the right the forfeit the said security deposit amount, in addition
to all other rights and remedies that CIFE may have against the successful bidder.
28. Income Tax will be deducted at source from the bills as per IT rules.
29. No Advance payment will be done.
30. Bills to be submitted in triplicate to office after completion of work along with work
done Certificate (WDC) of concerned officers of vessel.
31. Ensure that where spare parts needed to be replaced in machinery repairs should be
procured from manufacturers (OEM) or authorized dealers only.
32. Insulation, paneling, flooring etc. to be removed and fitted back properly in place of
steel plate renewal and any other job connected with paneling.
33. The Director of CIFE reserves the right to reject any or all the tenders without assigning
any reason.
34. The jurisdiction for any matter relating to this tender shall always be at Mumbai and all
disputes and differences arising out of this tender with regard to the construction
meaning and effect of any of the terms and conditions hereof and/ or with regard to the
work carried on pursuant to the tender shall be resolved and decided by a court of
competent Jurisdiction in Mumbai and Indian Law shall be applicable thereto.
