Certified Cross Fit comes to FCWC

with staff member Faith MacDonald
FCWC Staff member Faith MacDonald obtained
her CrossFit certication in April. Since then, shes
been taking this tness trend right to staff members
by training them during their lunch breaks. Heres
some more about whats involved in the training
regime.
What is CrossFit?
With constantly varied, high-intensity functional
movements, CrossFit is a training philosophy that
coaches people of all shapes and sizes to improve
their physical well-being and cardiovascular tness in
a hardcore yet accepting and encouraging
environment.
Denition from ofcial site:
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning
program for many police academies and tactical
operations teams, military special operations units,
champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite
and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a tness that is, by design,
broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not
specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life
reward this kind of tness and, on average, punish
the specialist.
CrossFit contends that a person is as t as they
are procient in each of ten general physical skills:
cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina,
strength, exibility, power, speed, agility, balance,
coordination, and accuracy.
