Walmart Corporation.
SWOT
Strengths
One of the strongest features about Target is that the consumer enjoys being there. So do I.
Target Store is always clean and the way the shelves set up in the store. The store always has
bright colors which draw people into the store. There are always great deals, too. Things are
cheap which is not so expected from a place that is so nice! These designs vary from home
dcor, to clothing, and even to electronics. It is all about beautiful design at Target.
Weaknesses
Target has some weaknesses: Target does not have many stores as their competitor Wal-Mart
even though they have great advertising. It is difficult for the consumers to shop at Target when
there are not many around. Target has a weakness with keeping their prices low as they are not
as low as Wal-Marts prices. The Target price is usually expensive. The problem with Target is
they keep a low overhead of items and always run out of items very often.
Opportunities
Target has one great opportunity is a club card. It looks like card that grocery stores has. These
way customers would shop more to get more points on their cards and would not worry so much
about the high prices.

Page

Threats
There are a few competitors that could be a threat to Target. Wal-Mart is number one retailer in
the world, because they have very low prices. K-mart is another threat to Target, because they
are beginning to focus more on design by calling Vera Wang to make a line called Simply Vera.
Kohls is also catching on to this by starting a line with Martha Stewart.
Shareholder Services

Target Employees can have an option to buy common stock. There are two ways to invest in
Target: purchase shares through your brokerage firm or through our Direct Investment Program.
The Direct Investment Program is offered and administered by Computershare Shareowner
Services. Target Corporations transfer agent. The Program is available to both current and
prospective shareholders wishing to buy or sell Target Corporation Common Stock. (Target
throught the years, 2014) Common Stock is for the public including Target Employees.
Therefore they have the option to buy stock or not. (Target: Shareholder services)
Positive & Negative Issues about Target

There are both positive and negative issues with Target. Remember, Wal-Mart is the number one
retailer in the world. Several other stores are competitive against Target. Target has lots of
positive. Target has better benefits, salary compensation, training & development, etc.
In conclusion, Target has great direct investment program for employees, awards & recognition,
culture, training & development, coaching & mentoring, tuition reimbursement, advertising &
marketing, labor & human rights policies, diversity & inclusion, benefits, competitive pay,

insurance coverage, and so forth. Target employees benefits are the best in retail. Health
coverage and financial coverage are excellent for Target employees. A career with Target is
about setting a goal to take opportunities to learn and grow, being recognized for contributions,
and feeling comfortable in the workplace. Target is an upscale discounter that provides high-
quality, on-trend merchandise at low prices. Target stores are clean, spacious and guest-friendly
stores. In addition, Target operates an online business, Target.com. The message about Target is
that it is one of the best retail places to work, because of their excellent employee benefits, fringe
