1. Purpose
To inform all Samsung Authorised service partners about how to use Reactivation lock
Unlock tool.

2. Instruction

- Preparation
1. SW capture tool (Samsung_PSC_SW_Capture_Vxxx.exe)
2. PC
3. USB or UART connection
3. GSPN ID with LevelS or LevelS2 access

To use Reactivation unlock tool, we need to get LevelS2 user role for a GSPN ID.
User role Description
LevelS
This level gives our business partners/ASCs relevant authority to
request Reactivation unlock codes.
LevelS2
If user already has GSPN Level 3 access, then LevelS2 should be
requested.

- Unlock Process
Part 1: Requesting the User role in GSPN
1-1. Login to http://gspn2.samsungcsportal.com

1-2. Knowledge > HHP svc (in left hand menu) > Other request
- Select Request type as Change the permission
- Select User role: LevelS or LevelS2. Please refer to the table above.

Part 2: Setting connection option of the SW capture tool

Once your permission has been granted, run Samsung SW capture tool

2-1. Open PSC_Model_List.ini in the directory and find the below.
[SAMSUNG OPTION]
SW Capture (UART)=0
Reactivation Unlock(UART)=0
Reactivation Unlock(USB)=1

2-2. Choose the connection which you want to use for this tool, default is USB.
USB UART
SW Capture(UART) 0 (Static)
Reactivation Unlock(UART) 0 1
Reactivation Unlock(USB) 1 0
You can only select one connection type. If you set both as 1, the tool will
not work.

For example, if you want to use USB connection

Reactivation Unlock(USB)=1

Part 3: Unlocking

Please note that internet connection is required. Security level is the same with
IMEI writing tool. (IP block, 1 month lock etc). It is recommended to use IMEI writing
tool and SW Capture tool on the same PC.

Case 1: Using USB Connection
2-1. Run SW capture tool
2-2. Select Reactivation Unlock [USB]

2-3. Login pop-up will appear. Type User ID & Password and press the Enter button.
- Login process will take few seconds to complete.
- The information will be used while unlocking the device.

2-4. Press Enter to start Unlock tool.

2-5. Set USB COM Port for each CH.
- How to check USB port
- Connect the device to the PC
Control panel > Device manager > Modem > find Samsung Mobile USB
Modem > Right mouse click on it > Attribute > Select Modem tab > check
Port number.

2-6. Press Start button of each CHs or press Start(All)
- Make sure you disconnect the device from the PC before pressing Start

2-7. Insert Phone will be shown. Connect the device to the USB cable
- Make sure that the device is already turned on.
2-8. If the device is recognized correctly, unlocking process will start automatically.


2-9. Result.
- Pass: The device is unlocked successfully or was not locked.
- Fail: The device might have missing information (Such as IMEI, DRK)
Or the version of the device doesnt support Unlock AT command.
- We can check the Reason of Pass & Fail for each CH, by selecting each Th
tab.

2-10. To unlock another device continuously.
- When the result is shown, disconnect the previously unlocked device &
connect new device to be unlocked using the cable. Unlocking process will
start automatically.

- If the PC recognizes the new device as New device with another COM
port, it may attempt to install USB drivers. Due to this the COM port may
not be the same as previously selected. Consequently the automatic
unlock process will not start when you connect the device.

Case 2: Using UART Connection

2-1. Run SW capture tool
2-2. Select Reactivation Unlock [UART]
2-3. Login pop-up will appear. Type User ID & Password and press the Enter button.
- Login process will take few seconds to complete.
- The information will be used while unlocking the device.
2-4. Press Enter to start Unlock tool.
2-5. Set UART port for each CH.
2-6. Press Start button of each CHs or press Start(All) if all ports are connected
- Make sure you disconnect the device from the PC before pressing Start


2-7. Connect the device to the UART cable
- Make sure to connect the device without the battery.
2-8. If the device is recognized correctly, it will boot up and unlocking process will be
started automatically.

2-9. Result.
- Pass: The device is unlocked successfully or was not locked.
- Fail: The device might have missing information(Such as IMEI, DRK)
Or the version of the model doesnt support Unlock AT command.

2-10. To unlock another device continuously.

connect new device to be unlocked using the cable. Unlocking process will
start automatically.
