To the ACC Board,

We are writing to file a complaint against George Makatura for his

actions that we believe are in violation of the ACC Code of Ethics
Section 1 – D (….malicious degrading of others or their dogs).

He made a 100% false, unsolicited, malicious statement to another

breeder that was clearly meant to degrade our reputation and
breeding program. We’ve copied in a series of emails so that you can
see for yourselves that George will say whatever he feels to fit his
needs.

Following is the email sent from George to Juanita Leamon (which we

were given permission to use) when she submitted an ad for a litter to
be placed on George’s site, cbrs4me. We’ve underlined the comment
that we are talking about.

Hi Jaunita, I can only list your ad for 10 days pending confirmation of

the CERF pending on the dam and proof of a newer CERF exam (within
the last 20 months) on the sire. Scan and attach the documents to an
email.

None of my business but neither parent has been tested for PRA. At
least one of the grandparents I recognize as being a Carrier. Since
Irish is on both sides of the pedigree there is a potential Carrier to
Carrier that could result in Affected puppies.

With the information provided for the advertisement, George was well
aware that 3 of the grandparents came from our kennel.

Below is the response that Dorene and I sent back to George. You will
see that he had absolutely no basis for his declared concern for any of
the pups being affected with PRA.

George,

We have been made aware of your comments on a litter recently

submitted for advertising on your site.

You state:

Irish is on both sides of the pedigree there is a potential Carrier to
Carrier that could result in Affected puppies.”

We would like to know which grandparent(s) you are talking about

since all 3 Irish grandparents are PRA Normal/A by testing. Two of
these dogs are listed on the ACC website. The sire of the litter is
Normal by parentage. Considering these facts, it’s funny that the only
linage of dogs you mention by name as being a concern is ours. Those
grandparents are all Normal, as is the sire of the litter. You don’t refer
to the linage of the only grandparent and dam not tested by name at
all. Looks like quite the agenda.

Since you know nothing about our dogs or the line we have
established, the information you are passing along could only have
come from your imagination fueled by your hostility toward us. We
would strongly suggest you get your facts straight before you pass
along such misinformation.

Again, being concerned breeders, we would like to know what

information you have as to the carrier status of at least one
grandparent as you put it.

Below is George’s response to our request for information concerning

the supposed carrier grandparent(s).

My comments were made to Juanita, not you or anybody else. The

breeder, not you, submitted an ad stating that both parents are PRA
Unknown. If her submitted (mis)information was wrong, then take it up
with her as this is what I acted on. When someone I don't know
submits an ad with both parents status as unknown to MY site I am
helpful in letting them know that they might want to get at least get
their dog PRA tested.

There is no hostility expect in your pathetic imaginations.

Go away and find a purpose.

The above emails are copied in their entirety.

To sum things up, the problem is that when George seen that the sire
and dam were not provided with any PRA status information he did not
tell the breeder that she may want to get her bitch tested as he falsely
stated to us. In fact, he didn’t mention that to her at all. He took the
opportunity to express concern that because Irish was on both sides of
the pedigree that the litter may have PRA affected pups. You can see
by the information we provided that is impossible.

We ask that the board take action on this matter. It is obvious by

George’s flat out lie of a reply to us, and his slanderous statement to
Juanita, that his arrogance and lack of being able to admit he was in
the wrong shows that he feels he is above everyone else and free to
make whatever 100% false statements he feels like. By definition,
what he stated was slander.

Slander: – a false report maliciously uttered and tending to injure the

reputation of a person.
