Dear Program Coordinator,

The Skyscrapers and bridges have excited me since my school days and have
made me curious to learn about the engineering behind them. Recent developments in the
field of structures, transportation, and planning and environmental concerns illustrate the
magical power of Civil Engineering in effecting radical social and economic changes.
From the very outset, it is precisely this power of Civil Engineering that has fascinated
me as a scientific discipline. Therefore, I am willing to participate in Industrial
experience program and thereby, acquiring civil engineering relevant work experience in
Canada.

After my schooling and being the topper of class XII (Non-Medical Stream) of my
school, I pursued Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, India which
has been conferred the status of Institute of National Importance. I have been awarded a
spate of honors such as Institute Prize for outstanding academic performance, as well as
merit scholarship twice in my undergraduate program. Along with academics, I have
been a keen participant in extra- curricular activities. During school, I represented my
district at State Level School Table Tennis Championship and also participated in various
social and cultural events. During my undergraduate program, I served as an Organizing
member of National Level Cultural and Technical Symposiums.

Prior to coming to Canada to pursue MEng in Civil engineering, I worked as a project
engineer at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (A Fortune 500 Company) for over
a year. I handled all the civil works in Bokaro New POL depot Project i.e. Construction
of Civil Buildings, RCC Driveway, Culverts, Roads & Drains Works, Tank Foundation
Works. This experience proved really beneficial and helped me in developing as a
professional engineer and understanding the importance of effective management of
project as a whole.

An objective self-assessment gives me the confidence to state that I have the motivation,
commitment, ability and interest that are required to do justice to an exacting program
like this. The door of opportunities will be much wider for me after having masters
education from the prestigious institution like Concordia University and in addition to
that, my graduate program related work experience. Therefore, I urge you to consider my
application and I look forward to a very productive and pleasant learning experience at
your institute.
