Scope and Delimitations of the study

This study covers the design and construction of Raspberry Pi operated

auto-credit using RFID via Wi-Fi for Smarter Shopping Cart that aims to meet the trend
of technology and to also increase the consumers satisfactory rating! This involves the
use of "rduino #icrocontroller$ Raspberry Pi$ RFID reader$ Servo motors$ %S& Wi-Fi
dongle$ 'CD monitor and micro s(itches! This study (ill also ma)e use of C
Programming for "rduino #icrocontroller$ Processing Programming language and Wi-Fi
as the medium of communication! The construction of the frame and the evaluation of the
performance of the actual pro*ect is also part of this study! It is operated by the battery
supply of +, volts! The 'CD monitor has the supply of +---,.- volts and a po(er
consumption of +/ (atts$ an inverter is used! The capability of the pro*ect is to have a
micro s(itches that (ould respond as the choice buttons of every transaction! The
shopper (ould place his item inside the cart through the tunnel! The tunnel measures
0 1 0 inches! The grocery cart dimension is ,+2W 3 4526 3 472'! The shopping cart is
enclosed (ith a metal sheet for instances that a customer (ill buy small grocery items!
For every push cart$ there (ill be a master card as the )ey to access the full feature of the
cart and (ill serve as the identification of the customers transaction! The RFID tags are
attached to each item of the grocery that (ill serve as its identification that contains the
name of the product and its price! The monitors and computers that are already available
in the grocery store can be used for the server and display of the shopping cart!
The pro*ect does not covers the design and construction of the modules that are
available in the mar)et such as "rduino microcontroller$ Raspberry Pi$ RFID reader$
Servo motors$ 'CD monitor and %S& Wi-Fi dongle! The RFID reader has a ma1imum
reading capacity of +7 cards (ithout e1ternal memory! The programming language is
limited to the development of the 8%I 98raphical %ser Interface: for the 'CD and for
hard(are interfaces such as "rduino microcontroller and Raspberry pi! This study (ill
only deal (ith the use of Wi-Fi transmission bet(een computers and modules! There is
no other means of communication that (ill substitute in the absence of Wi-Fi!
Construction and ;valuation of the study (ill not include the ma1 distance of the Wi-Fi
connection that the establishment can provide! Since$ the measure of the tunnel is fi1ed in
si<e$ it limits the item that a shopper could buy! Technical assistance of the programmer is
needed to help the grocery company for any change of the prices and advertisements!

This study (ill give an innovation and convenience in ta)ing grocery! =o($ the
time of manually scanning of consumer items is the common problem and this study
came to find a solution for the benefit of the advancing technology in the society!
