You can use the word processor or drawin module Gcop%Fpaste), the latter offerin a
wider rane of possibilities, includin rotation, 2D shapes ....
() To add elements Gwith the drawin functions available in the toolbar on the left) :
draw the additional elements, and place them on the raph
then roup ever%thin Ge.. So that %ou can move them all as a sinle block) :
'ress button , and draw a frame around all of the ob?ects that %ou wish to roup, then >#< and
choose 1roup & 1roup from the conte!t menu
G%ou could also select each element individuall% b% holdin down the Shift ke% and clickin on the
left mouse button, but itOs not ver% practical when there are a lot of elements).

Then %ou can choose an% individual element and modif% it
$hen %ou click outside the drawin, it has the effect of leavin the roup G>#< 1roup g Aeave

This lets %ou draw lines of the same colour, but havin different st%les, which is interestin when %ou
want to print in black and white. P!ample :
This raph was converted into a .pn file before bein inserted into this document. Ct would also
enable %ou to paste it into a web pae, or convert the te!t to $ord without fear of losin the
drawin Gvector drawins are interpreted b% the word processor and donOt alwa%s et converted
correctl% between different software L the same problem applies to formula created with NNo math).
Cf %ou take care to ;oom in on the drawin before convertin it to an imae, and then ;oomin out
aain after insertion, %ou can even et a reasonable print cop%.
'ote :
how&to: and use the imae of the raph :
csin Ainu! :
$ith isnapshot, %ou can make a screen rab, saved to .pn format.
Npen it with ipaint or 1imp, choose the small area of interest, cop%Fpaste the imae into a new file,
save as .pn Gthis file then onl% contains the selected area).
>eturn to NpenNffice.or : insert imae from file.
To insert the arrow in the te!t : first insert it wherever %ou like, then >#< on imae : k=nchor as
6haracterk, then cop%Fpaste wherever %ou want.
Cnstead of ipaint, %ou could also use the Cmae 'rocessin module of StarNffice7./ that is reall%
quite ood Gbut which wasnOt maintained in NpenNffice or StarNffice9. ).
csin #ac NS U :
$ith F=pplicationsFctilitiesF1rab %ou can make a selection rab G =). Ct is saved as .tiff. Npen it
with 'review then e!port as .pn.
You can open the file with The 1imp or 1raphic 6onverter to edit it. <ut this is not necessar% if the
selected ;one is not to small. Then complete as usin Ainu!.

csin $indows :
$ith the 'rtScrn button %ou can put a screen cop% into the clipboard. Se!t, paste it into an% imae
editin software document G1imp, 'aint, 'hoto&Pditor or StarNffice7./), in order to choose the
area of interest and make an imae file that %ou can then insert into NpenNffice.
Ct is better to save %our files as pn because the compression and qualit% of the saved imae are
better than with if. Cf %ou are workin in monochrome, %ou can save the file as a ( bit imae G/
colours). C this wa%, the si;e of the imae is reatl% reduced Guseful for postin to the web).
