1. Sahara lies on the west of Egypt and Namibian desert on the
East.
2. The river Nile made the Egypt a land of fertile by the deposit of
alluvial soil in the Nile valley
3. The rise and fall of the Egyptian civilization were according to
the fluctuations in the flood of the Nile river.
4. The supreme authority of the land in Egypt was King and the
Kings of Egypt were known as Pharaohs
5. The script used by the Egyptians for writing is Known as
Hieroglyphics which means The Holy Script.

achievements of the Pharaohs , population statistics etc.

Introduction
Teacher establish a rapport with the students and share the happiness and
asked some questions to know the previous knowledge of students showing a
picture, teacher asked the students to identify the picture, Do you know what is
this? Whether you learned about pyramid ? What is its importance? Where can
you find the pyramid?

Teacher entered the topic by saying about the Egyptian civilization.

Presentation

Teacher explain about the Egyptian civilization. It flourished on the banks of
the river Nile during 3000-1780 BC. The peculiarities of this civilization was the
construction of pyramid. Egyptian civilization is considered as the Gift of Nile.
The Kings of Egypt were known as Pharaohs. The supreme authority of the
land was rested with the Pharaohs.

Summarize
Students present their findings and more information by the teacher by using
PowerPoint presentations. Agriculture was the main occupations of Egyptians ,
beside agriculture they domesticated animals like cow ,ox, sheep, goat, camel,
dog, donkey, pig etc. The main export items were vessels, clothes papyrus,
ornaments, grains, cattle. They imported wood, dyes, copper, ivory, gold, feather
of Ostrich, potteries, weapons etc. The sun was their most important god. They
give many monuments lie pyramid, temples, sphinx. The great pyramid is at
Ghiza. It was built by King Khufu. Sphinx is a mythological animal with the
body of lion and the head of a man. The important ancient temple of Egypt was
Karnak.

Summarize
The more explanation provided by the teacher are the Egyptian script is known s
Hieroglyphics which means Sacred writing. They wrote with real pens on the
leaves of a plat called papyrus. The events recorded in the Hieroglyphic script
are administrative achievements, Dates of building temples, dates of royal
customs and rituals.

Activity : III
Monuments were built in memory of their Kings. They were known as Pyramid.
The pyramid of Egyptian are one of the wonders of the world. The base of the
pyramid is square and the side are triangular. The top of the pyramid is the apex
of the triangle.

Summarize
Students number them in the correct order and more information provided by the
teacher by using video clips. The construction of pyramid is land is prepared in
the suitable manner; Stage stones are cut and made appropriate shape. Cut stones
brought to the construction site, Rolled up heavy stones along this up to the top
of the pyramid
