ARI-MyValve
1.0 About ARI-MyValve
ARI-MyValve is a program that helps you calculate your system components quickly, safely
and reliably.
For each selected product, it also generates the product data as well as various documents
(e.g. ordering data, spare part drawings, data sheets or operating instructions).
2.0 Installation instructions
2.1 Local installation on Windows operating systems
To install the ARI-myValve calculation program, start the installation file ":\ fscommand \
setup_ARImyValve.exe" from the DVD.
Note:
For installation you need administrator rights!
Please observe the information during the installation and specify the program directory
(usually C:\Programme\ARImyValve\).
For the program directory of ARI-myValve, the user should have writing access, so he can
perform an update by himself when there is a version modification (otherwise, the update
process must be done with administrator rights).
After successful installation, you can start at C:\Programme\ARImyValve\ in your
preferred language.

You can use our website (http://www.ari-armaturen.de/de/download/myvalve.html) to check your
ARI-myValve version of timeliness and update it if necessary (refer also to item 7.0).

Note:
You need for ARI-myValve the J AVA Runtime version 1.5.0_16 or higher.
The runtime can be installed from the DVD "jre-1_5_0_16-windows-i586-p.exe" or for J AVA
6 "jre-6u24-windows-i586.exe". Please observe your company-used standards.
If ARI-myValve can not be started, first you must install the J ava Runtime.
2.2 Network installation on Windows operating systems
If you like to work with ARI-myValve in your network, please copy the folder "ARImyValve"
from the DVD to a folder of your choice. ARI-myValve can then be started in the needed
language version (. Exe or .Bat file).
Here is a linking from the startup-files to the clients recommended.
On the respective client computers the J ava Runtime must also be installed.

3.0 Calculation
3.1 Select module
3.2 Enter values
Because of various different basics of product
calculations, codes and product allocations ARI-
myValve is subdivided into several modules for the
different product groups.
With ARI-Product-Selector a large part of ARI's
product range can be selected without prior
calculation.
Enter all for the calculation of the
respective product necessary
calculation data and start with the
button "Calculate".
(here for example: "ARI-Control
valves ARI-STEVI-Calculation")

3.3 Product list
3.4 Managing/Saving results
The result of the calculation is shown in a product
list.
With product parameters (e.g. for STEVI:
"Material", "Sealing", "Plug variation" and "Series")
the displayed product list can be filtered.
Select "show all" if you want to display all possible
options of the previous picklist for further filtering.
In order to avoid product restrictions, the filter lists
will be rebuilt after each calculation.
1. Create project data
(refer to item 4.0)
2. Allocate a Tag-No. or Calculation-Nr.
3. Put-out in PDF file (see item 3.5)
The unique definition of the filename for the PDF-
output, the drawings and calculations are allocated
as follows:
Project-No. +TAG-No. =Filename.xml/.pdf
(e.g. 2009001-w015-calc.pdf)

3.5 Product information
3.6 Save calculation
1. By using the context menu of the
product list (right mouse-button)
After selecting a product from the product list,
information can be queried/issued about it.
- PDF-output:
Output of the calculation in PDF-format
- Drawing:
Sparepart drawings with parts and dimensions
- Data sheets
- Operating Instructions
- Pressure-Temp: Pressure-temperature-diagram
- Flow characteristic: Kvs-characteristic-diagram
- Save calculation: refer to item 3.6.
2. By using the program field "Documents
(top right of the window)
At the menu "File" you can manage/save the
calculations, input values and results.
Save calculation:
- the calculation is saved in the respective
module directory (. xml).
The file name will be generated
automatically including the Project-No. and
TAG-No.
(Note: if the file name was edited manually,
the file in the project management will not
be considered furtheron.)
- you can also save a project from the context
menue of the product list (refer to item 3.5)
- for "Changing the saving directory
refer to item 5.4.
Load calculation:
- opens the browser window to open the
calculation file.
Load last calculation:
- opens the last saved calculation

4.0 Create project data
Fill in the fields and confirm your entries with
the button "Save".
Note: Please do not use spaces or special
characters (especially "/).
If a PDF-output is generated (refer to item 3.5) and the calculation data are saved (refer to item
3.6), they will be deposited to the project data.
In the result data list, you can see the projects which are already stored with associated
calculations. when there are several projects, you can search by using a filter.
If a project was selected from the list, you can load the saved calculation data, the PDF-output and
the sparepart drawings by using the corresponding button (if they were stored).
With the button "Delete record" the selected project can be deleted.
With the button "Delete calculation" the selected calculation can be deleted.
Attention: The deleting can not be undone! The project will only be cleared when all the
calculation data were deleted.

5.0 Settings
5.1 Calculation basis
- Calculation in SI- or ANSI-units
- Calculation with absolut- or gauge pressure
5.2 User settings
(are shown in the PDF-documents)
Attribute "Differential pressure-isolation:
Setting parameter for the selection of nominal
diameters for isolation valves and control valves
(shut-off function)
5.3 Media-Data
Herewith you can create your own media data
(liquids and vapors/gases), if they are not included
in the database yet.
(The uniqueness is defined by name and
temperature of the medium.)

At the media selection, the new created medium
can be choosen via "free data-set entry" (at the
bottom of the list).

6.0 Saving your data
The backup will be saved in the default directory "C:/Documents and Settings/user/arimyvalve/ZIP/",
if no other location has been defined (refer to item 5.4).
Note:
Back-up your data continuously in ZIP-format on an additional disk.
5.4 Change directory
Enter the new directory path manually or
open with "Selection" the browser window.
You can work with local-level or network-
level.
A folder "ARI-myValve" will automatically be
created with sub-structure for each module.
If you have very specific requirements in
relation to project-backup or archiving,
please contact us.
At the menu "File you can
create a backup/summary
in ZIP-format for the
current project.
You can choose if you want
to save "only PDF-Report,
"PDF-Report and Drawing
or "all drawings and data to
the selected project in a
folder-bundled secure.

7.0 Version-check/update by Internet
7.1 Check on
current version
If you do not have the latest
ARI-myValve-version, you can
perform an update
(refer to item 7.3).
7.2 Proxy-settings
If you can not connect to the
internet, please adjust your proxy
settings.
7.3 Update
- Please start the download of the
ZIP-file first:
(example based on vers. 1.02)
ARI-myValve-Update-1.02.
- Exit ARI-myValve.
- Unzip the ZIP-file und and start
the EXE-file:
<update_ARImyValve_1.02.exe>
- Confirm the required
information, ARI-myValve is
updated on your computer.
- Restart ARI-myValve again.
