Elvis Presley - Second To None + Bonus CD from China

HDCD - Encoding 2 CD - Limited Edition

It is a double CD set of the Elvis Presley's greatest hits album 2nd To None on HDCD, it is made in mainland China. Apart form
the original album, a 29 hits bonus CD was added to this special edition

ABOUT HDCD

High Definition Compatible Digital (HDCD) is a patented encode/decode process for delivering the full richness and detail of the
original microphone feed on Compact Discs and DVD-Audio.

HDCD-encoded CDs sound better because they are encoded with 20 bits of real musical information, as compared with 16 bits for
all other CDs. HDCD overcomes the limitation of the 16-bit CD format by using a sophisticated system to encode the additional 4
bits onto the CD while remaining completely compatible with the existing CD format. HDCD provides more dynamic range, a
more focused 3-D soundstage, and extremely natural vocal and musical timbre. With HDCD, you get the body, depth, and
emotion of the original performance not a flat, digital imitation.

HDCD is playable on all CD players

Packing : 2CD slim jewel box with slip case

Encoding : HDCD (20-Bit)

Remarks : All tracks are original versions. There are Chinese characters for the translation of artist name and song names on the
CD cover and booklet, which make it an extremely special addition to your collection.

FTD release for April
No decision has been made yet on the next 2004 releases, except that the April 1st. release is going to be a “soundboard” recording
from the 70’s. We are keeping an ear to the ground on which show to chose, but unfortunately most fans are now asking for shows
from periods and tours where we don’t have any or very few shows (1970-73, July ’75).

2ND TO NONE RELEASED IN ARGENTINA

Due to TWO typos and wrong color on sticker, BMG/Argentina has withdrawn 2ND TO NONE from stores. Currently being
replaced by the ones with the correct stickers. There are THREE mistakes on the "original" sticker: a) color should be ocre
instead of purple; b) "escenciale" should read "esenciales"; c) "minutes" should read "minutos". This first print will soon
become a collector's item! (please see scan)

BMG/ARGENTINA PROMO CD SINGLE: FISGONEANDO (RUBBERNECKIN')

I have read an erroneous info on the web about "Rubberneckin" sales chart placing in Argentina. The fact is there is NO SUCH
SALES CHARTS for the simple reason that no CD singles are pressed in our country. The Elvis ones ("Elvis VS JXL" and
"Rubberneckin'") are an exception! Consequently, we can say that "Rubberneckin'" is "2nd to none" in Argentina. By the way,
only the first 1,000 copies come with the sticker in Spanish.

BMG/RCA RECORDS’ REMIX OF ELVIS PRESLEY’S RUBBERNECKIN’ DEBUTS AT #1 IN THE U.S.

NEW YORK (September 17, 2003) Following the successful path of last year’s smash No. 1 hit, the JXL remix of Elvis Presley’s A
Little Less Conversation, BMG/RCA’s remix of Presley’s Rubberneckin’ has reached the top of the charts as the #1 Soundscan
sales single just one week after its September 9 release. This historic accomplishment comes 26 years after the death of the King of
Rock ‘n' Roll. The single, remixed by acclaimed DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold, sold nearly double the number two record. The
remix will appear on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, scheduled for release on October 7. This newest compilation will also include the
recently discovered and previously unreleased I’m A Roustabout plus five additional Presley #1 singles, fan favorites and career
milestones.

“It is no surprise that this new remix of Rubberneckin’ is achieving the same success of last year’s hit A Little Less Conversation
and we are thrilled by it,” said Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President, BMG Strategic Marketing Group. “It is an exciting way to
kick off BMG’s 2003 Elvis campaign and is the ideal precursor to the launch of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE.”

Paul Oakenfold is often referred to as the world’s premier DJ and is one of the most respected remixers in the business, having
worked with U2, the Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Smashing Pumpkins and Bjork, among others. His musical tastes span a wide
range of genres, including soul, jazz and disco. Oakenfold was one of the founders of the acid house scene that swept England in
the late '80s and was a leading proponent of hip-hop.

In addition to the Rubberneckin’ single, BMG/RCA has released an accompanying music video -- currently on-air -- to kick off
the newest Elvis campaign, culminating in the October 7 release of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE. This newest compilation will be
distinctly different, presenting a broader range of Presley’s talents and incorporating multiple musical genres including R & B,
rock ‘n' roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly.
All 30 tracks on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE have been mixed and mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound
quality. This year’s album will include such classics as That’s All Right, Viva Las Vegas, Blue Suede Shoes, I Want You, I Need
You I Love You, Always on My Mind and Don’t Cry Daddy. Plus the recently announced, previously unreleased I’m A
Roustabout. Oakenfold’s remix of Rubberneckin’ is sure to be well received among today’s generation of music fans and further
demonstrates the legacy of Presley’s music.

Lost Elvis Presley Song Discovered!

Found Track, I’m A Roustabout, To Be Added To BMG/RCA Records Release ELVIS 2ND TO NONE Due Out On October 7th.
New York, NY (August 15, 2003) - Nearly 26 years after the death of Elvis Presley, his longtime musical home, BMG/RCA, has
unearthed a never-before-heard, entirely new song - I’m A Roustabout. This unprecedented discovery will be added to
BMG/RCA’s upcoming release ELVIS 2ND TO NONE due out on October 7th.

I’m A Roustabout was originally commissioned and written for the film Roustabout (1964) by longtime Presley collaborators
Winfield Scott and Otis Blackwell, but was never used. Rather, a completely different song written by the team Giant/Baum/Kaye
was recorded for the film and eventually became the title song for both the movie and the # 1 album. An off hand remark from
songwriter Winfield Scott to a journalist in New Jersey in 2003, started the ball rolling on discovering this lost track. When the
same journalist interviewed BMG/RCA’s producer/researcher Ernst Mikael Jørgensen he mentioned that he’d talked to a
songwriter who had an unreleased Elvis song. As soon as the journalist mentioned Winfield’s name, Jørgensen instantly
recognized he was referring to the long lost Roustabout, originally rejected by movie producer Hal Wallis. Winfield Scott had
found the original acetate in the basement of his New Jersey home, and was quite happy to play it over the phone to Jørgensen
and subsequently grant BMG/RCA access to the recording.

Now, BMG/RCA will add I’m A Roustabout to ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, the highly anticipated new Presley release. ELVIS 2ND TO
NONE is a compilation of #1 singles, fan favorites and career milestones representing a broader range of Elvis’ talents and
featuring multiple musical genres including R & B, rock ‘n roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly. The album features a
Rubberneckin’ produced by DJ Paul Oakenfold – one of the most acclaimed remixers in music history, and has been mixed and
mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound quality.

I’m A Roustabout is an up-tempo, tongue-in-cheek, R&B style pop song and has all the sparkle of a 1964 hit single and it remains a
great track to this day. With its inclusion on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, I’m A Roustabout will finally have a chance to become the hit
it could have been back in 1964.

“I’m A Roustabout is truly one of the most incredible discoveries of modern music,” said Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President,
BMG Strategic Marketing Group. “Rarely do we find any unreleased material for an artist of Elvis’s caliber, and to have a
complete track is even more unique. We are thrilled to be able to share this gift with music lovers throughout the world through
ELVIS 2ND TO NONE.”

“It’s very gratifying for me to finally have this song be released,” said Winfield Scott. “I hope that it brings Elvis fans as much joy
as it did for me and Otis when we originally wrote it. Enjoy!”

ELVIS 2ND TO NONE is the follow up to the highly successful 2002 release, ELV1S 30 #1 HITS, which reached No. 1 in 26
territories worldwide, including the U.S. where it was a chart topper for three weeks. Over nine million albums were sold
worldwide with 3.5 million in the U.S. Among the hits was the No. 1 remix of A Little Less Conversation produced by DJ JXL,
which went to No. 1 in 26 countries including the US and Great Britain. That feat pushed Elvis past the Beatles for most No. 1 hits
in the UK. Following the album’s release, a television special, Elvis Lives aired on NBC Thanksgiving night and the special
claimed the all important 18-34 demographic for the hour. Furthermore, the ELV1S 30 #1 HITS DVD audio debuted at No. 1 in
the sales charts upon its release.

Q & A With Winfield Scott About I’m a Roustabout

Following is the Q & A with Winfield Scott BMG/RCA has distributed to the media:

How did you start in the business?

I started in a vocal group called The Cues and we worked for Ahmet Ertegun on some sessions with LaVern Baker.

What was the first successful song you wrote?

I wrote Tweedle Dee for LaVern. I presented parts of it to Ertegun during a rehearsal, and he played it for LaVern. She liked it
and I brought in the whole song the next day. (After finishing writing it that night.) It was a huge success, and much to my
surprise it turned out that a very young 19-year-old Elvis liked the song and performed it live on his shows. Unfortunately he
never made a studio version of it.

How did you end up writing for Elvis?

Songwriter Otis Blackwell was a good friend of mine and convinced me to start writing for pop artists as opposed to just R&B
performers. Otis had written several songs for Elvis including classics like Don’t Be Cruel and All Shook Up, and he had learned
just how much more rewarding it was to write for a star like Elvis.

What were the songs you wrote for Elvis?

In early 1962 we struck gold and had three songs recorded in just a few weeks. Return To Sender and We’re Comin’ In Loaded for
the film Girls! Girls! Girls! and Easy Question for the Pot Luck album. We wrote One Broken Heart For Sale which became the hit
single for the next movie, and Please Don’t Drag That String Around which ended up on the b-side of (You’re The) Devil In
Disguise. A few years later I wrote Long Legged Girl with Leslie McFarland and in 1970 Elvis recorded Stranger In The Crowd
which I had written on my own.

Q: What is the biggest success of them all?

As I understand it Return To Sender has sold about 14 million copies in the U.S. alone.

What’s the story behind Roustabout?

When Elvis made a movie, many writers were asked to submit songs for his films. Elvis would choose the ones he liked and then
record them. Otis and I wrote a song for the 1964 movie Roustabout and Elvis recorded it. Movie producer Hal Wallis listened to
the song but he objected to the lyrics because they had Elvis saying he wanted to tell his boss to “stick it in his ear.” Mr. Wallis
demanded that a new song called Roustabout be commissioned from other writers so our version never made it into the movie.

Q: So what happened to the song?

I had a copy of it on acetate and forgot all about it. This happened almost 40 years ago.

When did you realize that you had something unique?

Well, I didn’t really think about it all these years. Then recently during an interview with a New Jersey newspaper reporter, I
mentioned having a copy of a song I wrote that Elvis recorded for a movie but was never used. A few days later I got a call from
BMG’s Elvis Presley producer Ernst Mikael Jørgensen, who had done an interview with the same newspaper. Through his
conversation with the reporter, he realized that the song I had made reference to had to be my version of Roustabout. He came to
my home and listened to my record, and subsequently we made a deal. The original story he and I were interviewed for was never
printed and the journalist left the paper.

How do you feel about the song getting released so many years later on the ELVIS 2ND TO NONE CD?

I’m surprised, happy and curious to see what kind of impact it will have.

How would you describe the song?

It’s an up tempo, fun, rock ‘n roll song.

2nd To None BMG Press Release

To Meet the Overwhelming Demand for All Things Elvis, Latest Release Features A Rare Combination of Hits and Fan Favorites
and a Paul Oakenfold remix of Rubberneckin-

Over nine million albums sold worldwide last year, No. 1 in 26 territories, a remixed No. 1 single, and a national TV special all
proved that Elvis Presley is still a driving force in the music industry. The historic release of ELV1S 30 #1 HITS captured the
nation’s attention as only The King of Rock ‘n' Roll can. Not only did the traditional Elvis enthusiasts respond to the release, but
millions of new fans were introduced to the music of Elvis for the first time.

As the natural follow-up to last year’s overwhelming success, and in keeping with their history of creating, preserving and
celebrating great music BMG/RCA will produce -- with the full participation of Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. ELVIS 2ND TO
NONE, a compilation of additional #1 singles, fan favorites, career milestones, and a few surprises including a remix of
Rubberneckin’ produced by DJ Paul Oakenfold, one of the most acclaimed remixers in music history.

Scheduled for release on October 7, this compilation will be distinctly different and a complement to last year’s compilation of No.
1 hits. ELVIS 2ND TO NONE will present a broader range of Elvis’ talents and incorporate a multiple of musical genres
including R & B, rock ‘n' roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly.

“Last year’s release proved that Elvis’ popularity is on par with today’s top artists,” said Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President,
BMG Strategic Marketing Group. “For some fans, 30 #1 HITS was a way to rekindle an old friendship and for millions of others
it was the beginning of a new, great relationship. We believe that ELVIS 2ND TO NONE will build on those relationships.”

All 30 tracks on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE have been mixed and mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound
quality. This is the same process that drew across-the-board raves from critics, music aficionados and the original band members
themselves for the 30 #1 HITS production. This year’s album will include such classics as That’s All Right, Viva Las Vegas, Blue
Suede Shoes, I Want You, I Need You I Love You, Always on My Mind and Don’t Cry Daddy. Oakenfold’s remix of
Rubberneckin’ is sure to be well received among today’s generation of music fans and further demonstrates the legacy of
Presley’s music.

“We are thrilled with this latest chapter in the Elvis legacy. This release is the natural follow-up to last year’s production and we
believe music fans of all generations will continue to embrace Elvis’ music,” said Jack Soden, President & CEO of Elvis Presley
Enterprises, Inc.

Certainly the success of the 30 #1 HITS proved that Elvis is 2ND TO NONE as a music and entertainment legend. The album
reached No. 1 in 26 territories worldwide, including the U.S. where it was a chart topper for three weeks. Over 9 million albums
were sold worldwide with 3.5 million in the U.S. Among the hits was the No. 1 remix of A Little Less Conversation” produced by
DJ JXL which went to No. 1 in 26 countries including the US and Great Britain. That feat pushed Elvis past the Beatles for most
No. 1 hits in the UK. Following the album’s release, a television special, Elvis Lives aired on NBC Thanksgiving night and the
special claimed the all important 18-34 demographic for the hour. The retrospective on Elvis examined his legacy today and
included covers performed by Norah Jones, No Doubt, Dave Matthews and Chris Isaak with LeAnn Rimes. Furthermore, the
ELV1S 30 #1 HITS DVD audio debuted at No. 1 in the sales charts upon its release.

Of course, Elvis’s musical contributions are unsurpassed: He is the only artist to be inducted into all three music Halls of Fame,
including Rock n’ Roll, Country and Gospel. He holds the record for most top 10 pop singles (40), the most gold and platinum
awards (140) and is the world’s best selling artist, having sold more records than any other artist in history. His popularity
remains intact to this day as there are more active Elvis Presley fan clubs around the world than for any other artist dead or alive.
ELVIS 2ND TO NONE will celebrate the music and the man that created the legend.

BMG is the global music division of Bertelsmann AG, one of the world's leading media companies. BMG owns more than 200
record labels in 41 countries including Ariola, Arista Records, J Records, Jive Records, RCA Records and RCA Label Group -

October FTD release

The October 1, 2003 release will be the Lake Tahoe 3 A.M. Mothers Day show from 1973. We normally do not release 2
soundboards following each other, but as RCA is releasing “ CLOSE UP ” this summer – comprising of 3 studio outtakes CD’s
and a 16 track live recording, we felt that the variety we are aiming for is best served by a soundboard release for October.

We are also working on 3 more movie soundtracks, but are holding back because of so many other releases during this time. Some
of you have been concerned that there is more product coming out than the fans can afford. However it’s important to stress that
FTD is fully comitted to re-release the repertoire that is no longer available through retail, and there will be more of these re-
releases by the end of the year and certainly next year as well. The CLASSIC album series is not limited to MOVIE
SOUNDTRACKS.

Rubberneckin' ( New Elvis CD Single )

We mentioned last week on our BMG News page that " Rubberneckin' " (remix) would be the next single in the same line as " A
Little Less Conversation " last year. The news is now also confirmed by Worlwide Elvis website.

It will be remixed by Paul Oakenfold and will be included in the SECOND TO NONE CD (see below). There will also be a special
12" version of this. It'll be released on August 12, 2003.

Second To None CD
According to WWE this news is 100% correct ! The follow up the 30 # 1 HITS CD will be another compilation of songs featuring
the newly remastered "new sound". To quote from a special BMG inner office memo only sent to executives - "A continuation of
the number 1's not on E1 plus career milestones and fan favorites including VIVA LAS VEGAS; BLUE SUEDE SHOES;
THAT'S ALRIGHT; and more. Also, a previously UNRELEASED second version of "ROUSTABOUT" written by Otis
Blackwell and Winfield Scott will be included as a BONUS TRACK." One of the songs that will be featured is the new remix of
RUBBERNECKIN'.

Bonus tracks on the next FTD " The Chinese Dragon "
A member of our Forum posted a message about the bonus tracks that will be featured on the next FTD in July so here it
is :"Just got an e-mail from Ernst stating that the song in question ( All Right, Okay, You Win ) is sung more or less like a jam
during Glen D. Hardin's piano solo. So I guess it's something similar to the " Bo Diddley " song on " Hot Winter Night..." CD.
The other two bonus tracks are " Blue Christmas " and " Trying To Get To You "...Ernst didn't state the dates on those two

contain bonus tracks including a new song that Elvis sings during the introductions. We said we'd ask Ernst Jorgensen, producer

Ernst Jorgensen sets the Record Straight on some rumours

Ernst Jorgensen puts the record straight on a few rumours that circulated on the world wide web:

The title for the follow-up to the "ELV1S 30 #1 Hits" is "2nd To None". The reason why they decided not to use the title " Top
Ten Hits " is that they would be stuck to single hits that were in the Top Ten in the US and UK and wouldn't be able to include
great other tracks ( like "That's Allright Mama" ).

The rumour on the other version of "Roustabout" written by Otis Blackwell and Winfield Scott: it will NOT be used on this CD,
they rather save it for a box-set or FTD release.

Ray Bardani, who worked with David Bendeth on the E1 Album last year, will be the remixing producer on this " 2nd To None
".

At this moment several titles are considered for a possible remix-release on single, the "Ruberneckin'" remix circulating among
fans is not the BMG mix.

The new FTD is out since today, but because of the Easter weekend it won't reach the dealers and fans until next week.

USA/UK, and also tracks that were important in Elvis' career such as ; Viva Las Vegas, Blue Suede Shoes and That's All Right
Mama. This CD would also featured the unreleased second version of " Roustabout " written by Otis Blackwell and Winfield
Scott. There's also the possibility for a second remix and " Rubberneckin' " recorded during the Memphis 1969 Sessions ( also
used in the movie " Change Of Habit " ) would be the chosen track for this. More details when we have them!!!

HOT OFF THE PRESS FROM BMG (USA) - NEW ALBUM

I have just received a communication from Joe Dimuro, Executive Vice President, Marketing, BMG (US)and I quote:

"We are currently working on a major follow-up concept record to Elv1s' 30 #1 Hits that will consist of additional #1 singles, fan
favourites, Top 5 and Top 10 singles on the charts etc. We are also working on major initiative for one or more re-mixes that will
be promoted at radio and will have a music video to accompany it. It will be a very BIG project and will be coming in the
marketplace sometime this Fall. Look for updates.

Ernst M. Jørgensen stays with BMG!

We just received the info from " Elvis Unlimited " that Ernst stays with BMG for another 3 years. He just signed his new
contract, this means that the FTD Label and BMG will produce good Elvis products the next 3 years at least!
BMG also tells us that, they will realease a 4 cd boxset this summer with the working title, " Close Up ".

BMG Elvis Catalogue 2003

There have been two significant announcements from BMG in recent weeks. Firstly, the great news that the company is working
on a follow-up release to last year’s mega album, Elvis 30 #1 Hits, and secondly, the much anticipated release of the new ’50 title’
Elvis catalog. On E.I.N. the new catalogue was listed.

Essentially, all BMG offices worldwide will stock the same 50 titles with only ‘exceptional’ other releases being sanctioned by
BMG USA for issue in particular countries. And when a new Elvis title is released one of the existing 50 will be deleted to keep
the catalog maximum at 50.

It appears that the long-standing BMG marketing strategy of producing smaller profits across a large number of releases rather
than larger profits from a smaller number of 'strategically' released and promoted releases is going to continue. The policy is a
major reason why Elvis has yet to register any Diamond award certifications (10 million units) from the RIAA in the US.

July 2003 FTD Release

FTD asked input for future releases. they mailed a "Thank You" to all the people who have spent time sending forward ideas.
Unfortunately a lot of these wishes do not match with the tapes FTD has. In general they have a lot of soundboards from mid
1974 and onwards – before that they only have a few – most of which have already been bootlegged. FTD has chosen the October
1,1974 South Bend show, and added 3 bonus tracks from the same tour. ( Read the concert reviews of the September 30th 1974
South Bend show on this website ).
