4. IN-HOUSE SOFTWARES

At eXergy, we understand and appreciate that decisions made at the early stages of the
design are crucial for the success of a project. To enhance our services, we continuously
develop in-house softwares to evaluate technical viabilities of proposed green designs to
ensure prompt response.

For example, the ExDaylit software can study various daylight designs based on different
window heights, window distance apart and glazing VLT property.

The ExRainT software is preloaded with rainfall data to simulate rainwater collection,
rainwater usage and make up water. This software is used to determining the optimum
rainwater harvesting tank volume based on usage and available roof collection area.

For static Building Energy Intensity (BEI) estimation, the ExBEC software is customised to
GBIs BEI formula with input capabilities of GFA/NLA, power consumption for main and
common areas, and air conditioning power consumption for day and night time. With
ExBEC, the Energy Saving Measures (ESM) can be evaluated and decided within a much
shorter time frame compared to the time taken to develop a full scale energy model.

5. ADVANCED SIMULATION
For projects requiring detailed simulation studies (normally GBI Gold and Platinum), eXergy
can provide total in-house expertise for a seamless solution. Being well versed with different
software means a more customised approach can be adopted depending upon the clients
needs and the complexity of the project.

Exergy primarily uses RADIANCE as the simulation engine for the analysis of daylighting

ENERGY SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS

eXergy utilizes Dynamic Energy Simulation Engines in compliance to ASHRAE 140 such as
Energy Plus, and E-quest (for simpler models) to simulate and analyse energy consumption
in buildings.
