1 Avaya and Hewlett-Packard General Employee FAQ
Q: What is happening between Avaya and Hewlett-Packard (HP)? Avaya and HP Enterprise Services (HPES) have entered into a global, five-year, non-exclusive agreement that will enable Avaya to continue its transformation to a cloud-based software and services company. Avaya will leverage HPs global reach and infrastructure to further accelerate the fast-growing Avaya Private Cloud Services (APCS, formerly AOS) business. HPES will provide APCS delivery services to Avaya, who will, in turn, provide the services directly to a subset of Avaya APCS customers. APCS will continue to maintain the direct customer relationship.
The current ACPS offer will extend to reach more customers with additional private and hybrid cloud options for contact center and unified communications. Avaya will continue to own the definition and productizing of the APCS portfolio and brand as well as the customer contracts and associated Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This agreement includes a joint go-to-market plan for the companies to perform account planning, selling, and delivery of solutions to top strategic accounts.
Q: What does this mean for Avaya? Avaya and HP are building the dominant cloud collaboration and communications platform for the next decade to simplify and transform business communications and customer experience. With this agreement, Avaya can continue to grow and scale to meet the increased demand for cloud-based communications and collaboration while HP adds great new capabilities in this market.
Q: How do I know if this affects me? Based on the delivery services work that is being transitioned to HP, Avaya has identified the roles that will transition to HP. This will include approximately 75 percent of current APCS employees who we anticipate will be offered employment with HP.
