TO AVOID ACCIDENTS PLZ FOLLOW THIS POINTS:

1) SUPERVISOR/ENGINEERS SHOULD BE JUDGE THEIR CAPABILITY.

2) SUPERVISORS/ENGINEERS WANT TO TAKE DAILY INDUCTION PROGRAMME.
3) MANAGERS WANT TO PROVIDE T&P IN FULL REQUIREMENT
4) NEVER DEPEND ON CONTRACTORS.SUPERVISOR/ENGINEERS SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE WHAT
WAY HE WILL BE TAKE OUTPUT FROM CONTRACTOR.
5) DAILY VISIT EVERY LOCATION TO LOCATION WHEREAS WORK IS PROGRESS.
6) STRONG COMMUNICATION BETWEEN MANAGER,ENGINEERS/SUPERVISOR & VENDOR OR GANG
7) ALWAYS KEEP SAFETY ON PRIORITY.
8) SPECIALLY IN ERECTION AFTER COMPLETE SECTION FIXED IT DIAGONAL OF PLAN VIEW
MEMBERS WITH FULL TIGHTENING NUT & BOLTS ,THEN START NEXT SECTION WORK.
9) IN STRINGING CONFORMED BY COMPANY SUPERVISOR & CLIENT TECHNICIAN WHEREVER
TOWER IS OK OR NOT?
10) ALWAYS USE WINCH MACHINE IN FINAL SAG.
11) EARTHING SHOULD BE PROPER BEFORE START STRINGING.
12) ALWAYS SHUTDOWN TAKE IN FRONT OF LINEMAN FROM DISTRIBUTION WITH OUR OWN
KNOWLEDGE SUPERVISOR.

THIS ALL WORKS RESPONSIBILITY OF SUPERVISOR/ENGINEERS. BCS IN EPC IS ONLY FOR SUPERVISION
& PROVIDE MATERIAL,T&P.WORK ALWAYS CARRY BY GANG/VENDORS.THEY ALWAYS WANT FINISH
THEIR WORK ANY WAY BUT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF QUALITY & SAFETY IS ALWAYS EPC COMPANY.

I DON'T BLAME TO SUPERIORS/ENGINEERS HE HAVE NOT DONE THEIR JOB PROPERLY BUT IN ALWAYS
INCIDENTS HAPPENED DUE TO NEGLIGENCE. ON SITE PRESENT ONLY SUPERVISORS, MANAGERS
SHOULD HANDLE SITE FROM OFFICES.SO,SUPERVISORS/ENGINEERS KEEP ALWAYS YOUR SITE SAFE

i am seeing lot of guys are posting that they have lot of years of experience in TL survey. a few questions
for you to answer if anyone to consider you for the post of surveyor.(1) did u independently handle total
station? if so what is its specification? (2) did u use a DGPS if so what is its specification? (3) did you
download data from survey instruments and process it and if so what is the software you used? (4) did u
use a sag template in your service? if so what is the function of a cold curve? (5) what is the highest
temperature you have considered for tower spotting if at all you have done..... if you have correct answers
for these questions you have plenty jobs in india as well as abroad provided you have no issues with your
present employer.

This is with reference to the comments on mail of mr. Subrahmaniam Mahadevan posted on 30th
September 2013. Since he comes across number of applicants for the projects abroad, he felt it is
opt to say what he said. Like him, i too had lot of surprises when i see so called project manager
applicants. A lot of young folks in this group declare they have executed lot of TL construction job. I
have prepared a few questions for them if they know the answers to the questions to declare
themselves as experts
1. why is 133kv, 220kv abd 400kv is not common for HVDC transmission
2. what are the factors for determining the kv of a transmission line
3. what are the highest system voltage for transmission lines with normal kV..132, 220, 400?
4. what is conductor creep and what is the relevance for TL construction
5. what is the purpose of using bundle conductor in overhead Transmission Line
6. what is the difference between precision and accuracy?
7. What is a projection and datum in the country you worked last.
8. what is UTM and How to convert the geographical coordinates to UTM coordinates
9. What is the significance of accuracy of a total station in TLC survey?
10. For the purpose of sag calculations, what are the initial tension conditions in the lines you have
handled
11. What is the order of accuracy for Transmission line survey
12. What is the difference between DGPS RTK .. single frequency and duel frequency
13. What is the difference between the conductor profile for spans below 300m spans and above?
14. what is the distance between the tower footing curve to ground clearance curve in a sag
template?
15. Why is it not correct the practices of Indian state electricity power transmission line entities to
have single sag template for an entire line?
16. what is the difference between ACSR and ACSS conductor
17. what does the unit IACS represent?
18. what is a negative span in the tower
19. For a 150km of a 220kv D/C line with an estimated time of 15months construction, how many
stub-setting templates are required for each of the type of towers?
20. Where are plasticizers and retarders used in concreting work?
21. What is the function of earth bond?
22. what is the difference between the conductor profile for 132kv line and for 400kv line
23. what is the lowest grade of bolt used on overhead line towers and why 4.6 grade is not suitable
for TL
24. what is the torque to be applied for a M16x40 bolt of IS:12427 grade 5.6 and what is the extra
torque if bolt length increases
25. what is the yield point of a M16x 8.8 grade bolt
26. what is the effect of using moist sand in concrete
27. what are the precautions required for using immersion type vibrator during concreting
28. what is the common non destructive testing tool for concrete you have used in your career.
29. what are the tools to make holes in tower member at site in case of missing holes?
30. what is the meaning of a wire rope 12dia 6x37 steel core construction and what is the
approximate safe working load
31. what is the difference between ring spanner and DE spanner and which is more effective for
better grip of nut
32. what is the thumb rule for safe working load of a poly propylene rope?
33. What is the harm if you cut a repair sleeve into two and use for small damages to conductor?
34. what happens when a pulley block of sheave grove double the dia of rope being run in it

If this is liked by members i would be tempted to post some more.
In the final analysis you better dont certify yourself that you know a lot. Let others knowledgeable
guys give you that feeling
