ACLU FOIA lawsuit result: DoD ordered to rele.ase photos from 203 criminal
investigations into alleged detainee abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan. These
investigations were closed by Aug 04 and provided to the ACLU without photos.
o An additional23 photos from USAF investigations were determined to be
subject to the Court's order.
DoJ negotiated with the ACLU to delay the release of the responsive
Images until 28 May.
Army Task Force
SECDEF directed: Identify all photos from closed criminal investigations that
are consistent with the ACLU's original request and process them for potential
public release.
On 4 Mav. SecArmv established a task force to evaluate the photos.
