Background
The ACF USA Training Centre (TC) based in Nairobi Kenya is looking to hire an experienced French
speaking trainer on a consultant basis to design and deliver a team management training for the ACF
country office in Haiti. The training is scheduled to take place from 17 21 November 2014, in Port au
Prince, Haiti.

The TC used ACF own training modules for team management training comprising of trainer notes,
participant workbooks, Power Point presentations and handouts. These training modules serve as a
basis for trainings for our country offices and are adapted and tailored for each training on the basis of
a learning needs assessment and capacity gap analysis.

Training modules for team management trainings can include:
Recruitment and developing competences
Setting objectives and evaluation performance
Managing time and priorities
Coaching
Communication Skills
Leadership
Motivation
Conflict management
Managing Change

Overall Objective
The consultant will design and deliver a training on team management skills to ACF staff from the Haiti
office. The training will be based on the pre-existing training modules and materials from ACF but the
training consultant will be expected to adapt and tailor them where necessary.

Specific Objectives
Design a 5 day training program on the basis of a learning needs assessment. The learning
needs assessment will be carried out by the ACF USA Training Centre and the results shared
with the training consultant
Adapt and/or develop training material for this event including trainer notes, Power Points,
participant workbooks and handouts.
Deliver a 5 day training to approximately 12 17 ACF staff at managerial level. The training
delivery should follow the Adult Learning Cycle.
Compile a training report based on a pre-determined format. The report will include session
details of each day as well as key recommendations and follow-up actions from the training.

Deliverables
Preparation and deliver of a 5 day team management training in French.
Co-train for a period of 5 days from 11 15 August 2014.
Training report in French maximum 10 pages excluding annexes.

The travel days will be paid at 50% of daily rate.

Timeframe & Budget:
The consultancy will consist of a maximum of 17 days of work.

Reporting:
The selected training consultant will report to the ACF Training Centre Director based in Nairobi Kenya

Support provided from the ACF Training Centre
ACF will engage in regular meetings with the training consultant via phone, Skype or face-to-
face during the preparation period.
ACF will conduct the learning needs assessment and share the results with the training
consultant
ACF will provide the training modules to the trainer for adaptation as well as the reporting
format.
ACF will support the visa process where applicable, cover flight, accommodation and per diem
cost for the duration of the assignment.

Payment Conditions:
- Payment will be made after the service is fully completed and validated by ACF Training
Centre Director
- Final payment will be done via bank transfer

Intellectual property:
All writings, books, articles, artwork, computer programs, databases, source and object codes, and
other material of any nature whatsoever produced in the course of this assignment produced in whole
or in part by the consultant in the course of his/her service to ACF shall be considered a work made for
hire, or otherwise, and therefore remain ACF's property.

Location of work:
Preparation and reporting will be done from the consultants home base. During the training delivery
ACF will provide working space and accommodation/board for the consultant. Please note that the
consultant will be responsible for his/her own health care and travel insurance.

Qualification and experience:
At least five years experience in design, implementation and evaluation of trainings
Demonstrated experience in conducting and implementing team management trainings in
French
Experience in using a variety of training methods based on adult learning principles
Oral and Written fluency in French
Demonstrated knowledge of the Adult Learning Cycle
Previous experience working with ACF desirable
Attention to detail and ability to compile professional and high quality training materials with
minimum supervision
