As Head of Operations I was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the delivery and development of clients products
and services of Mediatech an IT company with vertical consulting and software solutions for the Online Gambling and
Gaming markets (both on-premises and cloud - SaaS/PaaS). Driving continued definition and transformation of these
critical capabilities. Additionally, I take charge of a set of products and service delivery teams (IT, DBA, DCIM, Support,
PPM and Client Partners) and have overall management of around twenty people (six of them team leaders). As part of the
BoD and management team I am also tasked with achieving improvements in quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction
while in turn improving financial contribution, including consulting, sales and business development activities.
Delivered results by the implementation of a new operational strategy supported on team reorganization, new systems,
business processes and methodologies:
Clients: Working directly with clients C-Levels achieved substantial improvement on client trust and satisfaction,

Overall responsibility for the IT strategy and operations of the University supporting circa 10.000 students, over 700
academics, 250 researchers and 500 other employees in four campuses which incorporate 8 faculties, institutes and
schools.
Interim recruited by the Rector to solve all IT issues carrying negative impact on the organization. Delivered results
through the definition and implementation of a strategy, which aligns IT with the University objectives:
Team restructuring based in core areas and competences: Supervising three managers and 37 employees;
Effected a 22% reduction in contract costs by major renegotiation (Licensing; Telecommunications and others);
New infra-structure architectures: Wi-Fi, BYOD, VoIP; IT Security and cloud (both public Office365 and private);
New software development program (scrum agile framework), including consolidating 35+ applications into a
new Academic Life-Cycle Management System and implementing a SAP ERP platform.

Defined the IT strategy and managed the operations of Estoril-sol group, running the two biggest Casinos in Europe with
more than 3 million costumers per year, supported over 1.500 users in two casinos and one hotel. Supervised a team of
10+ employees and 30+ contractors.
Recruited by the CEO to restructure a failing IT Division and to build all the IT for the new Casino Lisboa which, in two
years, doubled the group annual revenue from 100M! to 200M!. This resulted in a highly complex 24x7 operating
environment and IT footprint delivered results in all areas, specifically:
Transformed a disorganized scenario in to a perfect 24x7 operation, truly running on a cruise mode, based on
state of the art technologies, providing excellent service and perfectly aligned with the business;
Casino Lisboa construction (112M!) with innovative solutions, Start-Up and Operations within time and budget;
Have reduced the IT budget needs in more than 20%, even running two casinos instead of one;
Successfully procured and implemented several software solutions, including Microsoft Dynamics ERP & BI.

1999 - 2005
Defined the IT strategy and managed the operations of Finantel/Ensitel group, a 50M! telecommunications supplier,
present in all value-chain (Import, Distribution, Retail and Service), supported over 1.000 users in 5 headquarters, 2
warehouses, and 170+ stores across two countries, supervised six managers and over 20 employees.
Recruited by the CFO in 1999, primarily as an IT Specialist, with the goal to restructure the ERP system and deliver
innovative solutions to the retail business, including, starting-up e-commerce operations. Due to the success of the
system implementations, after less than two years the CEO invited me to join the holding executive board as IT Director.
The group has tripled in size in two years, growing through expansion and M&A. This resulted in a highly complex
operating environment and IT footprint delivered results in all areas, specifically:
Defined strategy to streamline global operations while improved IT infrastructure efficiencies, and consolidated
ERP systems to Lawson/M3-Movex platform (included an innovative project that connected all stores online with
the ERP) part of new leadership team seeking value and synergy from acquisitions, while drove organic growth;
Leveraged IT as a strategic investment to drive business value, in increased sales (cross selling and upselling),
improved cash flow (inventory control) and customer service (on time delivery, delivery accuracy). Implemented
an IT governance process to ensure business leader alignment with priorities, resource allocation and spending.
Successfully designed and implemented e-commerce platforms, both, B2C and B2B;
Successfully rolled-out the group retail expansion from 25 stores to 170+ stores: Portugal Company stores
(100+) and franchising stores master (20+); Brazil Company stores (50+).
