GUIDELINE FOR MyHIJAU PRODUCTS AND SERVICES REGISTRATION

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 MyHIJAU Product and MyHIJAU Service refers to recognition given to
a product or services which conserve the environment and use of
natural resources and minimizes or reduce negative impact from
human activity.
1.2 Product or service participating in MyHIJAU Products or MyHIJAU
Services will incorporated a logo, which is known as MyHIJAU Logo
that serves to inform the consumers of its environmental attributes.
Consumer will be able to make a more informed purchasing decision
with full understanding that they are directly contributing to a greener
environment.
1.3 MyHIJAU Product and MyHIJAU Service require suppliers to be listed
with MyHIJAU Directory, a comprehensive guide to a wide range of
green products and services, systematically categorised with detailed
information and description for consumer reference.
1.4 The directory is available in both electronic and printed format and
contain products and services from various categories such as
agriculture, building and maintenance, commercial and industrial,
consumer products, energy, office supplies, recycle and waste,
transport and others.


2.0 INTERPRETATION OF TERMINOLOGY
Unless otherwise specified, the following interpretation shall apply throughout
the Guidelines:

Guidelines Refers to the Guidelines for Coluntary Use of
MyHIJAU Directory




Certification Bodies A competent body that carry out the verification,
validation and inspection of any product and/or
services based on the standards of environmental
labels recognized under MyHIJAU Program.


Scheme Owner Refers to governmental body that is responsible for
environmental labelling schemes.
MyHIJAU Program Refers to a program that spearheaded by
Malaysian Green Technology Corporation to
facilitate adoption of green technology in Malaysia.

MyHIJAU Directory Refers to registry of products and services that
comply to environmental standards. The directory
is manage by Malaysian Green Technology
Corporation and can be accessed at
www.greendirectory.my

Applicants The scheme owner and/or the manufacturer of
products and/or services based on the
environmental standards under MyHIJAU Labelling
Program
Green Technology
products and/or
services

Refers to products and/or services that fulfill the
following criteria:
Minimize degradation of environmental
quality
Zero or low green house gas emission
Safe to use and promote healthy, better
living environment
Conserve the use of energy and natural
resources
Promotes the use of renewable resources




Government Green
Procurement
Refers to the acquisition of products, services and
work in the public sector that takes into account
environmental criteria and standards to conserve
the natural environment and resources, which
minimizes and reduces the negative impact of
human activities.

3.0 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The application for registration in MyHIJAU Product and MyHIJAU Service is
administered by Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (hereinafter referred
to as GreenTech Malaysia). The applicant shall meet the following criteria:

MyHIJAU Products
a) MyHIJAU Directory is opened to companies who manufacturer,
import, distribute or sell Green Technology products in Malaysia.
b) Only products certified under schemes recognized by GreenTech
Malaysia (under MyHIJAU Program) is eligible to apply. The
recognized scheme is as per Annex I.

MyHIJAU Service
a) The applicant company must be able to demonstrate the
competency of at least one managerial/supervisor level in providing
the green technology services either through evidence of training or
registration with a professional body.
b) The applicant company must use green products for providing the
green technology services.
c) The applicant company must demonstrate green practices through
procedure or guideline on environmental management.
d) The applicant company must provide evidence of income generated
from the provision of green technology services





4.0 BENEFITS TO PARTICIPATING

4.1 Products or services that registered with MyHIJAU Product or
MyHIJAU Service shall be entitled to enjoy the following incentives:
a) green income tax allowance and green income tax exemption as
announced in the National Budget 2014.
b) opportunities to participate in the government green procurement.
c) Free listing in MyHIJAU Directory.
d) Unlimited use of MyHIJAU logo for registered product or service.


5.0 PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING

5.1 Application for registration
5.1.1 An application for listing in the MyHIJAU Product or MyHIJAU Service
shall be submitted to the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation in
the application form set out in Annex II and Annex III respectively. The
forms can be downloaded from GreenTech Malaysias website.

5.1.2 The following information shall be provided and submitted with the
application forms:

MyHIJAU Product
a) Companys name, address and company registration number
b) Manufacturers details
c) Information of the products applying for MyHIJAU Product
d) Certificate that shows products has been certified according to
the environmental scheme prescribed in Annex I

MyHIJAU Service
a) Companys name, address and company registration number
b) Information of the service applying for MyHIJAU Service



c) Company experience in the form of resume and copies of
relevant certificate of the companys personnel in providing the
service
d) Procedures and guidelines on environmental management
e) The latest available companys financial statement

5.2 Service Charge
5.2.1 Every application must be accompanied with payment for service
charges of RM1,000 per model or service.

5.2.2 Payment shall be made to MALAYSIAN GREEN TECHNOLOGY
CORPORATION using Company Cheque/Bank Draft/Wang Pos
Malaysia or bank transfer to CIMB Berhad, Account Number 1212-
0000528-10-6. Cash is not accepted.

5.3 Verification
5.3.1 On receipt of an application, GreenTech Malaysia shall verify the
validity of all documents submitted.

5.4 Notification
5.4.1 Applicant will be notified of the result within 5 working days upon
receipt of all necessary information requested. A confirmation letter
and relevant information to be displayed on MyHIJAU Directory will be
issued to the successful applicant.

5.5 Validity
5.5.1 The MyHIJAU Labelling membership is valid for one financial year from
the date of approval. Application for renewal shall be submitted to
GreenTech Malaysia not later than 1 month from the expiry date
together with renewal fee of RM800.00





5.6 Database of green products / service
5.6.1 The product or service that have been approved for the use of
MyHIJAU Logo shall be listed in MyHIJAU Directory which is also
available at GreenTech Malaysias website.


6 GUIDANCE FOR USE OF LOGO

6.1 Labelling
6.1.1 Successful applicant shall use MyHIJAU Logo on their products or use
the logo on their promotional material or letter head. GreenTech
Malaysia shall provide the soft copy of standard format of the logo as
per Annex IV and the supplier will do the printing of the label and affix
the label on products, its packaging, promotional material or letter head.

6.1.2 MyHIJAU Logo shall be printed next to the certification label awarded
to the product. Other usage of the certification label such as display on
product, packaging, advertisement and publicity material shall follow
guideline from the respective certification body / scheme owner.

6.1.3 The usage of this logo is automatically cancelled or void in the event of
either the following:
a) Suppliers withdraw from the scheme stated in Annex I.
b) If non-compliances with the environmental scheme stated in
Annex I
c) Certification body / scheme owner of the environment scheme
withdraw from MyHIJAU Programme.

6.1.4 Once terminated, the supplier shall remove all logos from the products
and its packaging within four (4) weeks from the termination notice. A
list of terminated products shall be withdrawn from the MyHIJAU
Directory registry.





7.0 DISCLAIMER

7.1 MyHIJAU Product and MyHIJAu Directory are aimed at promoting and
raising awareness on the availability of green products in the market.
GreenTech Malaysia disclaims all responsibility and liability of any kind
whatsoever for any loss, injury, liability, claim or damage of any kind
resulting from and arising of, or any way related to the misuse or
counterfeiting of the Directory.
