A Letter from the Principal

September 15, 2014

Dear Highgate Community Members,
As we embark upon fall, I want to thank you for all of your efforts and support that you
have given to our children and school. I have had the opportunity to see all of our
students embracing the challenges that school presents. Their work ethic, commitment
to each other, and grit is a reflection of the support that they receive from you each
day.

As I mentioned in my August letter to you, parent and community involvement is THE
key to student success. We will have numerous opportunities for people to visit and
volunteer at our school. I have included a list below that provides you valuable
information and opportunities to be involved. Our first event is Thursday, September
18th at our Open House. PLEASE NOTE: this event will begin at 6 p.m. (we apologize
for the typo in our school calendar/handbook). It is our hope that you will be able to
join us.

I continue to consider it a great honor and privilege to be able to return for my second
year and serve as your principal. Thanks for your continued trust and support. If I have
not had the opportunity to meet you before, please see me at open house so that we
can connect. I look forward to a wonderful year.
Go Hawks!
Sincerely,

Marcel Choquette
Highgate Elementary Principal
