Dr.Md.Yasin, Professor in Political
Science, University of North Bengal
delivered a Special Lecture on 15.9.14 at
12 noon before an audience comprising
students of B.A. LL.B. semester I,III and
V. The Lecture was on the principal
features of democratic governance in
India drawing its strength from the Indian
Constitution. Prof. Yasin also deliberated
on the linkage between Political Science
as a subject of study in LL.B. courses
and Constitutional Law. The presentation
was followed by intense discussion and
interaction with the students.

Celebration of Teachers Day on Sept.5-6.
The Teachers Day was celebrated with
due dignity and respect in the Indian
Institute of Legal Studies (IILS) on 5th
and 6th September. The students
organised the programme on 5th. It
started with speech by Mr.Joyjit
Choudhury, the Chairman, IILS and was
followed by speeches of
Dr.T.K.Chatterjee, Director, IILS and
Father Cherian, Principal of the
St.Xaviers College, Rajganj, Siliguri.
Some of the students also spoke about
